So Circuit City goes down the drain
...Yes I'm still alive, installing at the Circuit City in Gainesville, just not on here as much as I used to be.
So I found out today that as of January 1 2005, Circuit City will not carry Alpine any more. 2 years ago, at a manager's meeting, the regional Roadshop managers said not to expect much out of Alpine anymore, but inventory kept coming. Well now I guess the time has finally come. Supposedly, they are going to Best Buy instead...one of our installers who installed at Best Buy for a year previously, said that earlier this year Best Buy had already signed a contract with Alpine and everything. What sucks is Alpine spent millions of dollars creating a new factory just to supply enough products for Circuit City nationwide, which now is a waste, because everyone knows CC > BB. The notice they gave us at work today says "We are still working on our product lineup for 2005." Translation: We do not know what we are doing. It's not like it matters too much to me, I am still learning and getting experience installing, it just sucks ass for Circuit City.
Cliff Notes: CC will not carry Alpine as of January, supposedly Best Buy will.
Anyway, I'm lookin forward to Slamfest in 3 weeks, already requested off work a week ago.

I just heard that a couple days ago. Best Buy is really putting it in you guy's butts. I wouldn't be surprised actually if CC isn't even in the mobile scene within 2 years....I heard your numbers are rapidly declining.

They are, and I wouldnt be surprised at all if that happened. First they got rid of appliances, now mobile is getting raped.....At this rate I wouldnt be surprised if CC isnt around at all within 5 years or so.
