i heard a story like a year ago or something of a guy that got a ticket for his system, took it to court, the cop showed up, brought a db meter with him, asked the cop what it was, cop didnt really know how to use it or anything, ticket was thrown right out.

how about this...turn the music down in a residential area...thats the only time they really ticket is if you are near abunch of houses...since thats what the law states...is residential or near a church or school...plus its annoying as hell to have people come down the road forcing their music onto everyone

I disagree.. They can and will ticket you anywhere. Both of my tickets were on main roads through the middle of the city (in Fort Myers).. They don't care if you're in a resi area, or driving down Dale Mabry.

the cops must suck ass then..St. Pete cops havent cared any time my friends and i have gone by them with the systems up...but the time of day also has a lot to do with it and of course, the attitude of the cop

yup, srongly depends on the time of day and the cops mood. They can site you if they want no matter how loud it is. Of course, then you can take them to court and normally win(pain in the rear)!!!!
