well, i ran into the kid here on campus with an OO camaro. it has a lid, mass air, l6 intake manifold, ported throttle body, exhaust...dynoed at 336rwhp.

it went 12.9's in 40 degree weather in atlanta, went 13.2's down in bradenton in hot weather, on street tires, not nitto's.

so we went 3 times from a 50mph roll to 110mph or so.

first time, we got on it at the same time and he pulled me by a car length and was starting to slowly pull away.

the second time, i got the hit and was really in my power band and was ahead until 90 as he was creeping up and started to pass me at 100 or so.

the third time, we got on it evenly and i hung to his back bumper until he slowly pulled away.

needless to say...they were three good runs and i realized how quick the camaro's are. once i am tuned, (i am using the wrong ecu, timing is retarded substantially, have a dent in my header) i think this car should give a few built camaro's a run for their money...

we'll see...

and i told him to come on Tamparacing and post...and hopefully he'll verify everything that was said...

and if the race had gone on longer, he would have continued to pull on me...as his car was faster than mine...probably 13.0's vs 13.7's faster...but we'll see when i go to the track.

 

ET comparisons mean nothing when it's a rolling start hoss, then it is trap speed comparisons, good runs.

Hi, I was the guy in the truck filming the whole thing. I have to say your car is alot faster than it looks Chet! When both you and the guy in the Z28 get all your mods and adjustments done I'd like to see a rematch, maybe when I get a new car so I can partake in the fun. After all, you guys left me so far behind your tail lights looked like fireflies in the distance. If you want I can send you the video, although all I got was the second race since the battery died.

although it will be tuned shortly...and i hope to at least surprise some people.
