I never picked up SGT due to being a smart ass and hating my c/o then almost got in the reserves but managed to f that up , but we will not talk about that! and actually corey I think you are right and i am wrong , man I am losing my terminolgy here , just the other day i couldnt remember SOI (school of Infantry) and I 've been told it is MCT now (Marine Combat Training) . Acroynms and the Corp(s) they love em! put the S on for you gunny , but spelling and saying are different read as Corps and people think I'm talking about stiffs!

dino, i got out as a Cpl, pay wasnt too bad, but wasnt where i needed to be. i make twice as much working for Progressive. plus i dont know about you, but i didnt really spend alot of time at home. mostly in the field monday to friday, you have to have a strong ass family to do that shit. which i have, i just dont want to drag my family through not seeing me, and moving them every couple of years. you cannot say that the Marine Corps hasnt ruined alot of families

i dont have a split personality, its just that i read one bad post, one good post, bad, good.

i read one and think your an asshole, read one and think your cool as hell war veteran with medal so high they go on your back! then read another and im back to thinkin other shit again. your changin your shit too much too.

and yes i did rag on the reservists
Yea, there are couple who haven't come forward, but like I said, I'm not one to wash the laundry in the front yard.

Yes, the Corps has torn many a family apart. It pretty much ruined my first marriage. Helped my second, but in the end, probably had a hand in the downfall of that one, too!

I did the same thing as you... read a good one, then a bad one, then a good one, then a bad one.

There's not an active duty guy alive who hasn't done it at least once! If/when I go into the reserves, I'm sure I'll get shit, too. It's the circle of life.

Oh, and yes, you are right... It is a page 11. I have ink on that page myself.

97blkz, MCT and SOI isn't the same thing... MCT is a mini-SOI, only 4 weeks, and just covers the basics.

no, BWT was replaced by the crucible in boot camp. i went in before the crucible but heard its cake compared to BWT.

at gieger you have MCT for everyone thats not a grunt which has been changed to two weeks straight, no weekends off.

SOI is for the grunts and i believe its 2 or 3 months long.

zate, i feel sorry you had eat that shit. we only had like 4 different MRE's when i came in, now theres like 50.
