Yeah so Fords out selling chevy, when wasn't Ford not outselling chevy ? I mean I love my boe-ties to death but maybe the folks at GM should think a little extra hard as to why the blue oval is and from what I understand pretty much has been doing better in sales.
That's easy, GM advertised the F-body as a testosterone laden, redcar eating, stoplight destroying cockrod.

Ford, OTOH is and always has aimed the Mustang at women with a 4 or 6 cylinder motor in it. Nothing more than a sporty looking little car for some hot chick to wear. All those sales cover the deficit for those Boss 429's and Super Cobra Jets etc. It is kind of funny that we "Mustang Drivers" don't even consider the vast majority of Mustangs as "real" Mustangs.

MtuRbo2..... the 300hp mark was achieved in the 60's with the mustang, but im assume you are talking since the 80's. The 1968 Mustang CJ with the 428 plolice interceptor engine had 360hp and ran the quarter in 13.56 at 106mph on the polyglass (shitty tires) tires. as far as the late models are concerned the first mustang to top the 300hp mark was the 1995 cobra R, but that wasnt mass produced (250 cars). in 1996 the mustang cobra got a 305hp 4.6. your welcome.

not to mention that the 2003 Cobra exceeds the previous cobra R by 5HP

IIRC the previous Cobra R was 385HP, and the previous cobra was supposed to be 320HP (but they did fix it).

Whoo Hooo, thank god it only took ford about 30 years to catch up to the point where they were in the 60s.

At least the tire technology has advanced a bit if we don't count the delaminating explorer tires.
