I have a stock fuel pump which can't do a goddamn thing, and changing it out with one that flows more is a SAFETY PRECAUTION. It won't add a bit of performance since my injectors are still stock, as with everything else. So the only reason I'm swapping it out is so I don't blow the engine. Meaning, shut the fuck up, you don't know what you're talking about speed_daemon1

On a boosted car a fuel pump is a mod as far as I'm concerned, now if you had a stock civic dx and were putting an aftermarket high flow fuel pump, I would agree it's not a mod, because it won't do anything for you.
Adding a fuel pump allows for more fuel, even with the stock injectors, which intern allows more boost/juice whichever you prefer.

You're making assumptions, and you know what they say about that. It makes an ass out of you...and umption. Anyway, My car is stock FUEL, meaning if you knew ANYTHING about 300zx's, their stock fuel is crap. I have an upgraded turbo which can barely do 12psi without running out of fuel, and the 100 shot. The only reason I would do the fuel pump is to run the nitrous safer. I could not increase the boost since the injectors are already maxed out. Do you understand THAT now? So no, it owuld not allow for more boost as you say. It would allow for a larger pill in the nitrous side, but I'm not going to do that since I want to race matt under the same conditions. The way you are sounding, matt can't even put his ttops back on because that would change a variable. That variable would increase his chances, but the fuel pump would not increase mine.
Okay speedy, I'll do this the right way. Clear cut case, here you go. When I dynoed before I had gotten the nitrous, I was pushing 1bar of boost at dangerous lean levels. This was not because of the fuel pump however, because matt was using a stock pump with larger injectors for quite some time. This means that the injectors simply cannot give me any more fuel. Now that I have the nitrous in, 100hp worth of fuel is being used for that, which I can imagine will start stressing the pump out. I am putting in a walbro 255lph to give the nitrous and the injectors the abillity to use the same amount of fuel as before, but this time with no danger of burning out the pump. I will not be able to increase the boost, since 1 bar was too lean on the dyno, it would still be too lean to boost that now. Now do you understand? Any more questions or qualms?
If you put more pressure to the stock injectors they will flow more, that is the way it works. Most people don't realize that. they think that if an injector is rated at say 450 that is all it will flow. while you where running lean before did you have a fuel pressure regulator? If you did you could have turned up the pressure and gotten more fuel, to a point, that point is when the stock fuel pump overheats and dies.
Then the 255 comes into play, it loves to flow lots of fuel, in fact with my 450's at idle I can not get the fuel pressure below 40psi. I would assume your 255 pump will behave much the same as mine, so you will get more fuel flow even with the stock injectors, if you put it back on the dyno you can see how far you can take that extra fuel as far as boost and juice.
As far as matt having his t-tops off, that's his a.d.d. havin fault, run what you brung or don't run at all.

Yes, I had an adjustable FPR. My car runs incredibly rich all the time. When I lean out during the boost, that is my injectors pushing their limit. It does not matter on the fuel pump, because once an injector's duty cycle is maxed out...it can NOT squeeze out any more fuel. I do not know off hand honestly, but check out the specs on the z31 injectors. They are TINY. Even honda's get larger injectors...I'll race him this weekend with the same variables, fuel pump has not gotten installed and will not for a while.
I'm not trying to start any shit, I just consider a fuel pump on a car that needs it a mod. I don't know if we've met or not but have Matt introduce us Sat.
