If the discovery process will get you a copy of the officer notes that would be beneficial.

There is a chance there are none but for something like racing there may be some so that if you try to contest it the officer could try to back it up in court.

Don't get the wrong idea though since like Tony said, if you are a young kid and it comes down to the officers word against yours in traffic court it is likely to end not in your favor. Hundreds of dollars (it was up to about $500 in the early nineties in a couple of counties I lived in) can be assesed on top of the regular traffic fines if the judge decides to do so. One time I had to go to court after parking my motorcycle on the sidewalk and when the judge saw my record he added a $250 court fine to the $60 ticket.

I stopped going to traffic court about a decade ago since it was never in my favor once my driving record built up. Until that point it was a great way to get the occasional ticket dismissed.

I had two tickets at the same time (17 yrs old) for speeding and a stop sign. I haven't had any tickets for the last 4-5 years. I hope the judge will be cool.
