Default 97 Lincoln Mark VIII Vs Nissan Titan Crew Cab

I raced a chipped Nissan Titan quad cab to 70mph. The first 60 feet he was a bit ahead and then I just started tearing away like a freight train. At 70mph I had 3 1/2 cars on him. We both pulled in the gas station after to talk (which is how I found out it was chipped). He was a pretty cool guy and was quite surprised the Mark VIII beat him.

God I love having a sleeper.....

My Lincoln Mark VIII is SCT tuned, Magnaflow true duals with Magnaflow X pipe & the mighty K&N filter

whoops. Sorry I'm still a noob. I tried to figure out which section to put it in but my attempt to place this in the appropriate thread was an apparent fail! HAHA!

Thanks. Yeah the SCT tune definitely helped. I think you'll be very happy with your purchase when you get it, especially since you can continually update your tunes with your mods.

No the Mark VIII has the DOHC 4.6 Cobra motor. To be more accurate, Ford put the Cobra motor in the Mark VIII first and then later put it in the Mustang Cobra. The only difference between the Mark VIII motor and the Mustang Cobra motor is one of the cams is different, and the intake manifold is different. Everything else is the same.

Most guys with Mark VIII's try to get ahold of the Cobra intake manifold because it is a direct bolt on and nets a good 10rwhp.

This car is the ultimate sleeper because most have no clue it has a Cobra motor

Duh! I can't believe I didn't think of that. The Mark VIII motors are used in 4v swaps constantly in the Mustang/Ford crowd. I love those cars! I don't really like the looks TBH, but you could lay down around 300 at the wheels with ease on those motors, and with good traction could belt out low-mid 12's all day long!
