I dont usually like street racing but I do like to open er up when I see some nice corners or twisties. Well coming from Memorial onto Independance I see this nice Mustang Cobra flying by everyone. He slows down a little as he comes next to me blips the throttle and then shows me his tail lights. Since there is a nice sweeping curve coming up shortly I decide to try my luck. I drop to second lay into it and watch as the Mustang just keeps on putting distance on me. By the time I hit third the Mustang is about eight cars or more on me and increasing his lead. The curve comes up I see him hit his brakes I drop to second while scrubbing off a little speed and then proceed to catch up pass and put about four cars on the bastard. With a pretty good exit speed it takes the Mustang a little while to catch back up but catch up he does and again Im seeing his tail lights. Finally he eases back and I stay on his tail a bit. I can see the entrance ramp to 275 coming up now so I decide to have some more fun. I drop gear change lanes and gun it. Of course the little 1.6L of fury isnt quite up to it and the Mustang again proceeds to walk me...until we hit the nice banked entrance ramp. This time he tries to stay on the throttle a bit but hes no match for the little Civic. With a some tire squeal and my body pressed against the drivers side door I manage yet again to pass him and put quite a bit of distance between us. Exit speed is healthy and Im almost topping out third just as the curve begins to end. I toss it in fourth and decide to stay on it. Slowly the Mustang builds up speed and eventually comes up on my side. Knowing its a losing race from this point on I drop into fifth gear and slowly cost back down to a nice safe speed.
Basically I was raped on the straights but I was pretty happy to give a little lovin back to the Mustang on the corners. Straight lines bleh...who needs em?

sweet! that 275 entrance ramp can be tricky. Right were the ramp blends into 275 the banking disappears. It hasnt caught me but Ive seen plenty of people spin there...its even worse in the rain. I am pretty sure your were talking about the on ramp right by the mall

Is that why they put this round thing in the car? I thought it was a handle for drag racing....
