K20 engine in a hatch is usually good for low 12's.
i'm gonna do a small nutswing here.
all of you know niel sutton, stock k20 bottom end, stock k24 head, 11.4 1/4 mile in a crx. there is a basically stock motor in a CRX running with the new vettes.

This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.

#1 - There's NO way a 180 HP FWD car would take an LT1 vette out of the hole, or a heads/cam GT. It's NOT going to happen no matter what -- unless they didn't even know you were racing.
#2 - Even if that WAS true, you said you beat a vette, now you're saying he beat passed you at around 120.. that means you lost.

I've seen a c5 z06 run consistant 13.1 at track day. many of you probably saw this as well, as it was a former moderator of the "war stories" forum. 180HP in a CRX or Hatch runs about the same time.

Ok so it was spinning, obviously it's going to. He would have caught up to him by the time he got it into second gear. I spin all the time through first gear, and even sometimes through the beginning of second, but it's not like you stay in one spot and spin without moving.
I understand you guys wouldn't know anything about spinning through gears because you drive ~180 HP civics with no torque, but that's what happens.
And again, he would not have beaten a c4 vette unless there was something wrong with it. The Vette would be in the mid 200's like I said before, and have way more torque than the civic.. I think like 280-300?

reading this guys posts had me rolling on floor. I kept thinking "this sounds like highschool racing logic", and sure enough he is only 18. You guys, including myself, should have saw this earlier, it would have saved you alot of time arguing. this kid obviously has very little or no track experience, or racing experience. If he did he wouldnt be saying these things. he has no clue about power to weight, no clue about driver mod, no clue about tires, and no clue about different car's capabilities. he needs to spend alot of time and track and on the street before he continues to make himself look stupid.
I was not the one who brought up the "power to weight ratio" arguement.. I was giving them the ricer math. Maybe you should have read the rest of the posts before me. I'm done arguing with random ricers on this site, it gets nothing done, so I'm not going to argue with you either.
1. Power to weight? My car weighs ~3400 with me in it, A hatch weighs about 2300 with the driver, it's not a HUGE deal. If the car weighed 1500-1800, I would agree it would make a difference.. The only argument I get about why you guys' cars would win, is the weight difference... It's not that huge.
2. Driver mod? A driver can only be as good as his car.. No matter how good the driver is, you put him in a 180 HP hatch, he's still slow.
3. Tires? Tires is not a cure-all for traction problems. Regardless of putting drag radials on a FWD car, the weight will still transfer to the rear of the car, it's common sense. So saying drag radials will make the car launch with no traction problems, RWD or FWD is ignorant.
4. Capabilities? A 180 HP civic won't have any torque. It's just not gonna happen. So therefore, it is not capable of anything.
But what is funny, is that you're driving an accord and telling me about capabilities. You're the one making yourself looking stupid, nice car.
And you're trying to say that a 180 HP hatch is as fast as a 350HP / 350 TQ corvette? And I'm the stupid one..
