Another Mustang related note. Stock for stock the 94-95 5.0L Cobras tend to be just as slow if not slower stock than regular GT 5.0L Mustangs. This is due to their horrible processor that retards the hell out of the timing above 90mph (where it really lays on the shittyness) and over 4500 rpm. In addition the 94-95 processor plays with timing so that in between shifts the rpms float or hang for extra shittyness. What I am basically saying is that unless you have done a computer retrofit to a A9L EEC IV processor your average SN95 is going to be a dog. I remember back in the day racing Stealin Joes buddy Captain Caveman (I have no idea what his name is but has a JRSC & NOSd teg). I killed him with just longtube headers and a processor swap.
I could honestly see where just about anyone could beat a even mildly played with sn95 Cobra. They are dogs from the factory and after driving my friends throughout different stages of modification I know so.

Actually Craig I know first hand that the SN95 Cobras are more than a full second faster than GTs. 14.1 which is what I did compared to a 15.3 Which is common for the GTs. And the myth of them coming underrated from the factory is also true as my car stock dynoed 260hp at the crank. The Cobras being slower than the GTs is ridiculous. The Cobras from the factory come with GT40 heads GT40 intake 1.7 roller rockers 24lb injectors better suspension and brake upgrades just to name a few parts... A stock 94 Cobra will obliterate fox body coupes left and right and this is coming from experience. My Cobra from factory was as fast as a LT1 Z28 b/c my boyfriend and his friends have them and it was a close race.

I am not doubting what you are saying but remember I work for (not so much now...im lazy) a Mustang shop. Some of the slowest cars to ever grace our shop have been 94-95 Cobras. Their processors are horrible. The GT-40 heads are mediocre at best. I dig the roller rockers. The processor is calibrated to the 24lb injectors so that means an injector swap is not as easy as merely changing out a MAF meter to match the injector size. This makes tuning a car with more agressive bolt ons impossible. My good friend has a 95 Cobra. When our cars had the same mods (he even had more mods than me...including drag suspension) and both motors were stock I would kill him so badly it was not even funny. And he had a big bad Cobra. Woo. Anyone who really knows the computers well in the 94-95 5.0Ls will tell you what I have told you. They suck. Cobras suck worse than the GT computers. These are usually the limiting factor in the vehicles performance. Once a swap is done the cars can actually perform. 20-25 hp difference between Cobra and GT is not much. I can make that up in driving alone.

Maybe sometime we can race from like 145 mph. I dont know what wed race up to because thats as high as my speedo goes so wed have to just wing it. Then we can have someone lay some sand on the interstate and we can see who can stop the quickest!
