if mustangs are so patheticly SLOW why do you guys bother? why are they benchmarks for judging the performance of your import? if you beat cobras why bother to race a moron in a stock (?) GT? dont tell me its because he reved his motor at you is your ego that fragile?
i know that there are fast imports and im able to say that some are able to beat my car. it doesnt matter what kind of car you have it comes down to power to weight ratio.right? its true domestics are generally heavier cars and they need low end torque only a v8 can give.
i personally like all cars i just prefer american cars. that doesnt mean i ride around looking for a civic DX with a 6 tip and bury his ass.

What kills me is the fact that people feel some sense of acomplishment in beating down some 160000 mile ragged out POS Mustang that leaks more oil than it holds. Sure it has headers (shorties no doubt) offroad h-pipe flowmasters and the requisite dirty as hell k&n filter. In their prime the cars had 190rwhp. At 160000 it would be a fantastic day if they got over 150rwhp. There was a teg at dyno day (blue one) that did 175 at the wheels. Be realistic. If you beat a ragged out posstang or a 96-98 GT dont go bragging or judging all Mustangs like that. God knows there are far too many poser imports as opposed to ones that really do run.

the last quick stock mustang produced by ford and could be purchased at a dealer was 7yrs ago.if you multiply 7yrs by the national average for miles driven a year (15000) you get 105000 miles. like craig said its highly unlikely a 7 year old mustang that has had the shit beat out of it for 100000 miles is going to make more than 150rwhp. what a kill! go to desoto on friday night you will see these mustangs im talkin about crack off 15.xx times all night long. i know you desoto regulars have seen them. only recently has ford put any real hp in the mustang.i seen a 1999 gt run a 14.2 and it was an automatic.no 14.2 is not quick compared to most cars on this site but its great when combined with a factory warranty!

This describes almost to a t the 88-90 5.0L I embarrased today. There are a bunch of them out there. Seriously it even had the K&N filtercharger and Flowmaster stickers

. Oh to all that thinking Im bregging about beating a mustung which you guys think is a slow one. Im just telling you about a race I got into. Ive race at least two of every stock mustung and raced alot of mod. ones. I have yet to be beat by one all motor(which means no supercharger no NOS no turbo). So from my expereince 90 percent of mustungs are slow just as the same goes for any other car brand. Any way you guys look at it Ive taken 2sec off my 1/4 mile time since I put the motor in and it was stock. How many others can say they have lost that amount of time off their stock times with out adding a NOSturboor supercharger....
