My buddy just purchased a 2007 STI. The car is pretty much stock however he has an intake and a boost controller. I have a 1998 eclipse gst with 16g turbo and supporting mods. We go from a 40 roll and I end up pulling him by 2+ cars. I thought they had pretty good power stock?

Srt-4 Full exuast, wategate,fmic,boost controller and alot of other little toys. He was running 18lb of boost when we raced. 2nd gear we were door and door then going into third I blew a dime size whole in my coupler and fell back 2 cars. Considering i have a huge whole in my coupler 2 cars isn't bad at all.

Mazda speed 3 with full exhaust, bov, intake. The mazda speed is a pretty quick car and has shocked me totally. 1st 40mph roll we were door and door to 100mph. 50mph roll I pulled 1 car on him and kept riding out tell I miss shifted going into 4th. second 40mph roll I pulled 1/2 car and I rode out for the win. I definitely give Mazda props for the ms3


Tonight I raced the fastest fwd car we have in town.

Stage 2 srt-4, full exhaust, wastegate, fmic, running 26lb of boost fully tuned. The first run was at 40mph and he pulled a little more then 1 car ahead of me held it to 100+ and we shutdown. The second 45 roll i pulled 1 car on him in the beginning and we were about door to door when we shut down. He said he had a bad shift going into third however I am on stock clutch and shifter so his 3rd is alot shorter of a throw then mine.

Second race was a z28 automatic camaro. We raced 3 times, 2 from a 40 roll and 1 from a 30 roll. Both 40mph rolls I pulled an instant 3 cars on him and kept riding out. The 30mph roll I pulled 4 cars and held. The guys with the z28 went back to the local shop and told everyone I won by 1 car length so tomorrow we are going from a dig.



I put down around 250hp at 15 lb of boost and Im running 18 right now. My tune is horrible, I only have high throttle tuned so anything below 25% gas my turbo dose not spool correctly.

the guy with the fully tuned srt4 is running 26 lbs of boost on stock turbo? what an idiot.

you could do it but theirs not really any need for that much boost on a stock turbo cuz you can only make so much power with a small turbo

 

26lbs . I hope that wasn't on the stock turbo. If I run him on my 19lbs I would walk him. The stock turbo is insufficient past 20psi... all its doing is bringing in hot air and just working the turbo more then it should be. Especially on Stage 2. I bet after that run his turbo and manifold were bright red. BTW, he spiked 26 but I bet by redline if not close he was only at 14-15lbs.

Yea the guy with the srt-4 on 26lb was on stock turbo. His car is quick but the other srt-4 in town raced him on 19lb and the race was pretty close. The 26lb car won by a car or a little less. He wouldn't race again ... i know i would have taken him. I am getting really bad boost lag because of the tune so i am going to try brake boosting next time. I am using the apexi afc neo to tune.
