im not here to argue with you over the internet, im here to share real world advise, i use mls style gaskets in all my set ups, ive lifted heads before and the gaskets have leaked, when the car cooled down they sealed perfect, ive pulled the gaskets and they had no signs of blow thru to a water jacket or another cylinder at all, it was a simple case of the head bolts stretching to much from the high cylinder pressure, sourskittle has been racing his car every week for the last 3 years, if it broke then it broke no need to ruin his thread with your internet arguments so you can try to prove a point
mhg CAN AND DO blow. period. im glad you arent going to argue because neither am i. im telling you.
but thats all im out of the thread....someone showed it me and i couldnt resist. have a nice day.

they do blow, they dont deteriate like the old style but i just blew a cometic head gasket. it melted the sealing surface and warped the stainless center causeing it to leak permenatly. it would not reseal. call it blowing or just gone bad but they do fail.

yes i agee they can and do fail but almost every time they will not blow out or across like a normal head gasket so doing leakdowns or compression checks will not always show a faulty mls gasket, thats why i sugested the coolant dye cause its much easier to do
