Default 01 ITR vs. 05 RSX-S

So it has started to get really hot again and my engine is not looking forward to this heat. Coming home one night from a nice relaxing time watching tv and playing on my brother's Xbox360, an RSX-S tracked me down. I had just passed him on DM heading south and him heading north. Car looked nice but I never knew he would uturn and follow me intentionally. I turned on Ehrlich and low and behold he comes right behind me and then to my left. Sounded pretty stock to me and I don't know who started it but he asked for his belting. My car is pretty much stock with the exception of suspension mods and so with his hp and what the Kseries boys keeps on bugging me about, I thought he would get me on a rolling start. NOPE!!!

So first run started on a roll. I heard him downshift and I was still in third gear from turning on Ehrlich with him slightly ahead by half a car. He downshifts and I just push my pedal straight down and next thing I know i'm passing the bloke and cut off after top of 4th. I got him by two and a half cars. Second run was the same except I passed him by at least 3 cars. The third and final run was from a stop light but was eased off the line after the light turned green. He had gotten to the stop light before me. I rolled in on his right and looked at him. I just grinned. The crossing traffic's light had turned yellow and one more second our light turned green. Eased the clutch and rolled 5mph, 10mph, 20 and off we went. one car length shifting into second. By the end of second and into third it had turned into two cars behind and in the end of 3rd i could see him way behind me slowing down to do a Uturn back to DM.

He should have gotten me even with the weight of him and his passenger. Seemed like your typical skinny white highschool sophomores and since I weigh 240 and with what I have in the car it was kinda sad seeing him way behind me like that. If I had put an avg of 2 car lengths on him, I wonder what it would have been like if I had tuned my fuel that evening and running on a my usual full tank of 100oct LOL.

Cars: 01 itr
stock jdm internals, exhaust, and just some suspension mods... Him stock...

Disclosure: This has all been made up in my mind. This event never took place on public roads, nor do I condone this type of behavior.

It's beneficial for you to run 100 octane on a stock car?

I just read somewhere that you actually lose power due to over octaning or some shit like that ..And that a lot of allmotor guys with mild setups run 87 cause it makes more..Dunno though

That's why I ask, the lower the octane rating the faster the fuel burns, the lower octane you can get away with without detonation the more power you make. However, he says something about tuning his fuel for the 100oct, and I could see that helping very very minimaly, just curious.

I know ITR motors need 93 octane to run right...

but 100 oct make no sense on a basically stock type r motor with no internal work or head work w/ bumped comp... or unless your spraying the car.

most high compression motors have a bit to gain when tuned with high octane fuel...not much tho

good kill simon!!!

good kill! He said he has JDM internals which would mean at least 11:1 comp. so 100oct is not goin to hurt him at all. Could be running a JDM computer or chipped computer which do like higher oct.

The lower octane you can run without pinging is going to make more power..My Teg was in the upper 11,s and I ran 93 with no problems.I dont know why but Hondas can get away with lower octane gas than most cars.My friend just had his car tuned to run on 93 octane and he is running in the high 12's comp ratio wise and it runs perfect and is pretty quick too
