SVT Focus, Mustang GT and a Sportbike all on the way to work :)

Auto x's are showing mostly driver skill rather than the car's ability. I'm sure there are a couple z06's you could take against a less expierienced driver.
Saying you can take it on a auto x in a thread where a focus got walked is hardly proveable. Meaning, I'm not going to be going out to any auto x anytime soon just so we can find out .. although me and you both know an svt focus will outhandle a fox body, but that's not what this is about. It's about you falling back on an unproveable opinion of being able to take a new cobra on an auto x just because someone made a reference to your engines output.

I could care less what people say about my engine's output, I do not need to defend my car, I didn't build it, I just bought it. As far as my unproveable opinion...I've turned faster times than late model Cobras in my '96 Altima SE. (I might be able to find some times printed somewhere...if I really have to proove it)
So, I'm quite confident I could do the same in my SVTF. Now don't get me wrong, I am not a Mustang hater by any stretch of the imagination. And, I certainly accept that I could even be bested by one at a race. But the SVTF has some great merits, dare I even say, some aspects that are even better than that of the Mustang.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not any kind of car hater, I like anything fast ... in whatever type of driving it is.

While unequal in straight line performance, on a roadcourse the little SVTF can hold its own. So while 170 HP is not "whoping" in the power department (but is plenty adequate for it's weight), the SVT Focus is certainly whoping in the handeling and braking department. This coupled with its high reving engine and close ratio tranny is what makes it "fast" on a course.
Too many people pigeon-hole a car into a slow category just because it sucks at the strip.
Thats why I say fast is relative. But then thats what slow car drivers always say, right?
