Sad story (street racing)
It was dark out,
Maybe 2:00 am on a long dark stretch.
Just me and the road.
Only thing I've seen in the passed 10 minutes was a trucker heading the
opposite direction.
Slow jams playing on the radio.
Coffee's almost gone.Next store is only a lil ways up.
I pull in and fill up, grab a snack and another cup-o-joe.
On my way out , I see a couple kids ,by the phones, checking out each others cars.
Some nice cars. A green Firebird ,'97 I think. And a blue 4 door civic , definately didn't look stock.
I kept driving , I got a ways to go.
About a mile out , I start to see lights in my rear veiw. They're still a ways back so I think nothing of it.
But before I knew it , I could see they were 2 sets of headlights.
Remembering the kids ,I figured so ,and pulled over off the road.
No sooner did I pull over , did they go flying by at warp speed.
Surprisingly the Civic was leading.
Was no time before I couldn't see their lights.
So I got back to the task at hand.
I get about another 2 miles down the road and I see flashing lights.
I figured they would get pulled over.
But as I got closer, I could see flames.
My heart dropped. I could only imagine what happened.
As I got to the scene, it was horrible.
The Civic was upside down. And the Firebird was on it's side up against a small tree , about 20 feet from the road.
I drove by slow. People were everywhere.
As I was almost through the wreckage I see the two kids from the store.
Both standing next to a Police car.
They stared at me as I drove by. Huh , not even a scratch on either of them.
It was a long ride and I had enough exitement for one night.
So I posted up at the next Inn I came to.
Later the next morning, I had breakfast in a local coffee shop.
There was talk about the wreck. But then I heard something that made
my blood run cold.
A local grey haired man , said that the two kids , both died in the wreck
that night.
But I saw them, by the police car ,I said.
No sir, One died on impact, the other died in the fire, he said.
Was no sooner did he finish that it flashed across the screen, of the
television set, behind the counter. Confirming what he said.
It turned out to be a longer trip than I had planned.
Definately not one I'll ever forget.

is this an original true story of yours, or one of those chain e-mails nobody can prove, but is there to serve as a warning to the rest of the idiot drivers?

Why do you guys call BS?
Is it because you don't want to admit it really happens?
Besides why would someone make a story up like that, there are better ways to get attention. (At least I would like to think)
SCXTC - was this recent? What state/county was it? maybe it can be found on the internet. It would at least cut back on the speculations.
