Sad story (street racing)

I was coming through Tennessee. I don't even know what county.
I had gotten off I-75 , and was going down a long road.
And somebody else on another board, also pointed out the time gap.
To be honest with you guys,I truely can't recall what else happened between the store and the scene of the accident.
I thought I remembered it all correctly.
damn that really bothers me now.
As soon as I can remember. I will fill the gap in the story.
And as for the road, and town I'll have to ask my dad.
he knows Tennessee real well.
If I explain to him where I was he'll know.

Maybe 2:00 am on a long dark stretch.
Just me and the road.
Only thing I've seen in the passed 10 minutes was a trucker heading the
opposite direction.
Slow jams playing on the radio.
Coffee's almost gone.Next store is only a lil ways up.
I pull in and fill up, grab a snack and another cup-o-joe.
On my way out , I see a couple kids ,by the phones, checking out each others cars.
Some nice cars. A green Firebird ,'97 I think. And a blue 4 door civic , definately didn't look stock.
I kept driving , I got a ways to go.
About a mile out , I start to see lights in my rear veiw. They're still a ways back so I think nothing of it.
But before I knew it , I could see they were 2 sets of headlights.
Remembering the kids ,I figured so ,and pulled over off the road.
No sooner did I pull over , did they go flying by at warp speed.
Surprisingly the Civic was leading.
Was no time before I couldn't see their lights.
So I got back to the task at hand.
I get about another 2 miles down the road and I see flashing lights.
I figured they would get pulled over.
But as I got closer, I could see flames.
My heart dropped. I could only imagine what happened.
As I got to the scene, it was horrible.
The Civic was upside down. And the Firebird was on it's side up against a small tree , about 20 feet from the road.
I drove by slow. People were everywhere.
As I was almost through the wreckage I see the two kids from the store.
Both standing next to a Police car.
They stared at me as I drove by. Huh , not even a scratch on either of them.
It was a long ride and I had enough exitement for one night.
So I posted up at the next Inn I came to.
Later the next morning, I had breakfast in a local coffee shop.
There was talk about the wreck. But then I heard something that made
my blood run cold.
A local grey haired man , said that the two kids , both died in the wreck
that night.
But I saw them, by the police car ,I said.
No sir, One died on impact, the other died in the fire, he said.
Was no sooner did he finish that it flashed across the screen, of the
television set, behind the counter. Confirming what he said.
It turned out to be a longer trip than I had planned.
Definately not one I'll ever forget.

Hmmm, I can blame my memory gaps on being a child of the 60's. Your problems have a certain familiar ring to them. Do spiders sometimes come out of your hair and try to eat your hands?

Funny, I've heard that story about 15 years ago... the only thing that changed was the type of cars.
"It was dark out,

opposite direction.
Slow jams playing on the radio.

Can I ask, who in the fuck talks like that, anyways?
"But before I knew it , I could see they were 2 sets of headlights.
Remembering the kids ,I figured so ,and pulled over off the road.
No sooner did I pull over , did they go flying by at warp speed. "
Now who here pulls off of the road when they see headlights coming up on them?
This guy is quoting an urban legend, and changing the cars descriptions to update the story. Like I said, I heard the same story about 15 years ago.... then again, maybe he was the one who originally told it, and just now wanted to bring it up again.

This is one of those bs letters that basically try and tell you street racing is of the devil.
And the way that you make it sound like your soooo sooo innocent just driving down the road lalalallal sooo happy getting my cup of coffee and then the bad happens. Sounds like a movie.
