Heading towards my brother-in-law's pad Sunday afternoon I'm stuck behind a van in the left lane on a road off Anderson by the AMC Veteran's 24. I look in my rear view to pass and I notice a new blue Mach 1 approaching. I stay behind the van and watch the Mach drive by. We both slowly pass the van on the right, Mach pulls to the left as I pull to the left, then Mach pulls back to the right and slows so I know we are gonna tangle.

I pull up in third gear as he slows to pace me, watching my revs, thinking to myself how me not likey the gooney-bird style, but that's how the situation presented itself. We are around a 45-50 roll, not knowing who's gonna go so I take the hit and put a 1/2 fender on him, shift light-4th and take it to a little over 100mph as he falls to my door. Traffic approaches and we slow. Thru his tinted glass I see what appears to be a thumbs-up and I return one out my window. His car appeared to be dead-stock, but I couldn't hear if he had an exhaust at least because my open cutout is so damn loud. So I'll take it as a victory, though after watching a certain blue Mach 1 at the BR Track Day lay down some very good times, I don't know whether to believe this Mach 1 I raced let off early or didn't lay into it fully. Oh well, nice run anyways and I was in front at the end.

2 years ago I dynoed 278rwhp, a few months ago I dynoed 260rwhp so I don't know which to believe.

 

Probably 278 ... machs get about 275-280 to the wheels stock, would make a lot more sense

Bruce aka bigbird just ran a 13.3 I think we ran at the track, he is dead stock, he also drives good! N20 runs better than stock so I do not know about it being him? Good kill the machs are better than I had orginally given them credit for!

 

Correction, Bruce ran a best of 13.2... he did it against me. He was happy because he ran his best time against me. Chris ran a best of 12.9, from what I hear, but he's obviously not stock... you can hear his exhaust with no problems. Bruce is bone stock, and Chris just has gears and exhaust, if I remember correctly.

My car is factory stock and I ran a 13.2@105.
