Default Win vs Probe GT, Loss to RX-7

Went out the to the lakeland 1/8th mile track tonight. Had quite a few runs in.

Ran a mid 90's Probe GT, not all to sure what he had, but first run I wheel hopped into a missed gear and he romped me, second run I got him with a 10.959 to his 11.88

Ran a friends' 85 RX-7 with an exhaust and modified valve or something. Spun through first and hooked in second for an 11.49 to his 10.9

Also ran a Full size chevy with exhaust and who knows what with a cowl hood. The driver lit them up in water etc. Beat me at the actual race by maybe half a length, but I got them on the actual ET. (need to work on my Reaction Times ) My 10.89 to their 10.96

This is what I got for best time on my car with almost bald tires, an intake tube, and the Escort GT header. Not too shabby in my opinion for just a baseline 'scort with not much on it and literally no traction *spun through first and part of second most of the time*

Overall a fun night, and very much worth the 13$ to play

holy shit....i guess if i ever need an ego booster ill go to lakeland to race....is it alot of rice there? id hate to keep getting told the only reason i run 8's is because i have 8 cylinders..then id really hate having to tell them the only reason i have 8 cylinders is so i dont run 10+ with 4... good kill/death though

seen that heads/cam/pistons RX-7? bad boy is sick!

Well since I don't have a tach in my car it's all by ear and feel really. But because of the damn tires any time I tried an actual launch I would either spin through gears or wheel hop like no other . I've ran 1/4 mile before in my old Neon ACR. But this was more challenging lol. I figured because the tires were bald I might be able to get some traction on the sticky shit left behind Didn't work though obviously.

There was a good mix of 4cylinders and v-8's with a couple of the big dogs practicing runs.

The RX-7 modified valve or something has to do with the intake and a secondary port or something hell if I know

I'm not running anything much on this motor, it has to last me until the nice one gets finished, which may be a while.

^^^ did I not just say I didn't know what it was? read the damn posts!! It has something to do with the intake or some crap I don't know really and yes they do have a valve, just not the kind of valves you guys are thinking of. They have a valve that lets air into the engine that's part of the carb just like any other motor. I know how a rotary works so quit bitching about a stupid valve!

There's like a spring powered valve that adds either air or fuel (can't remember) when you romp on it, that he modified to open earlier.
