I perfer the G35's but I dont like the Infiniti name...
When i think of 350Z's i think of class and touring. And the fact that they are trying to steal the camaros Z and 350 titles :o
For that they must be put down...
5ilver5tone Try both at the track.
Try just stomping on it when the light goes green from idle.
Try stomping on it holding your rpms at 2500.
Try stomping and or feathering it at 3500 rpms or anywhere inbetween.
Last track day my ET's were all over the place... was trying to find the happy medium. I cant launch above 2200rpms or i'll just spin..
My torque curve is really high off idle.
I'd stomp on the gas in the 350Z's i drive and the tires wont spin from a 5mph roll... so I'd try guess you can launch it above 2500rpms.

 

through experience of myself, i have always seen better 60's through feathering of the clutch...it was mandatory in the laser because it was AWD but even in a 240sx, 200sx, and fwd DSM. i was cutting high 1.9's-low 2.0's and 2.0-2.1 in the fwd dsm, probably due to worse weight transfer.

problems i see with dumping the clutch - harsh engagment, your rear end may not like, not to mention axles or tranny.

problem with feathering - go through clutches a little quicker, all be it i had my DSM for 7 months or so and the clutch never started slipping after probably 20-30 5600RPM launches in it

 

coming from another 350z owner i think that your best launch on the street will be from 3200 and just dumping the clutch. I have raced many times with my z and though im running 19 inch Racing harts on nitto tires (8.5 front 10.5 rear) you should hook rather nice. I have a few goodies on my car and have been wanting to race against some domestics so lemme know if anyone is interested

lol dino..mine wasnt the white one with rims mine is the silver one with stock rims. i had the rims on before but decided against them. my car...is well its hard to explain. its a sports car ''z'' with some nice looking lines..and its something that is practical for everyday use..i mean i can get like 30 mpg lol thats insane. and my lowest recorded is like 17. i want to get like a black ws6 i love those, beautiful (not that i dont like silver..my car is silver) lol. But i truly love my z and im not mad if i cant beat everyone but its fast enough for me and ill ''keep up'' with most of you and maybe even beat a few but i need to bring in some mods i want to be sub 13 sec. dino, i wanna check out ur car, looks perty nice ill look for u on sat.
