Also...my thoughts on the distance issue:
Dont rely on any car to mark off the distance. Use something accurate. I have heard of two more measurings today that said it was very close to the 1320 feet. Until the actual measurement is confirmed...and accurate...this is all a moot point. A cars osometer that reads in digital tenths is not accurate enough.

The two cars were accurate enough to prove the fact that the distance is long by a considerable amount. With your background, I'm sure you would grasp the concept. I guarentee whoever else measured rode to the sign and saw that it was still on .2 and assumed it was .25 and didn't see it hit .3 til a little bit after.

I am not saying that the people who measured today were right by any means. But we are talking about interpreting when a digit on an odometer is either .2 and then .3 and then trying to make an acuurate determination down to the foot. Thats just kinda dumb when you are trying to resolve something of this nature. Get a REAL measuring device that measures in FEET, not tenths of a mile. Then measure it. Simple as that. If it is indeed 1500+ feet then a rematch should happen. But if its ~1320 it should be a race. Why continue to rely on debatable info when it can be set to an undeniable rest with a simple accurate measurement. I am tempted to go measure myself but I dont have any equipment for this.
I just want to know if its ~1519 feet or ~1329 feet (hypothetically), not wether is was approx .25 or .3
Thats just too inaccurate.

I'll walk it with you. I will bet anyone $500 that it measures out to 1500+ feet. I am that sure.

Thats just fine if it does. Im not on anyones side. My only point is to get an accurate measure...thats all.
BTW...my buddy Steve is a surveyer. He is going to get his GPS distance measuring equipment and we will measure later in the week. We will post the result to the inch.

Remember to start at the gap in the wall (black line) right after Floyd's marks and go to the Hillsborough sign.
