Question HELP A/C alternator, compressor belt problem! HELP PLEASE.

I have a 1987 VW scirocco 16V. Yesterday I had a guy looking at the air conditioning. he was running some testw and checking for leaks and what not. I believe he filled the system with nitrogen to test for leaks. On the way home, the belt between my compressor and my alternator melted and broke? The belt was pretty much brand new. Does anyone have any ideas about what he did or what it will take to fix it? This is my daily driver and I need help fast. Does anyone know a good mobile mechanic?????

I responded in General Chat. If you just need a quick fix (no a/c) send me a PM, I'm off work tomorrow. If you're looking to keep the A/C, then most likely you'll need to take it to a proper A/C shop and pay to be cool.

Why don't you start by calling that mechanic and telling him he broke something... =(
