Default my vrt progression thread

well i got this car a few months ago, i got rid of my acura rsx if you guys saw it on here before, got this thing and have been working on it since. heres what ive got so far!

and hate all you want <3

day i got it

good thing they primered everything on the car! really helped me out a lot. first things first it had a horrible eyebrow/lid type spoiler that came off, . Used some airplane stripper and tlc and got the lip back in action.

next was clean the extremely ugly engine bay, with a nice selection of colors underneath the hood i figured id try to get it back to normal.

unfortunately it has a nice big scratch right across the middle, oh well!

next was this bad boy

went with a simple textured black

then i got a nice little package in the mail
so far ive replaced the coolant ball, and cap, coolant temp sens, new plug wires and coilpack, ngk BKR7E plugs.

the car when i got it couldnt pull past 4K without backfiring and misfiring from the spark plugs that were in it. so I gapped the NGK's to .028 and havent had a single misfire since and can get a clean pull all the way to 6.5K with no imperfections.

then got onto stripping some more of this blue off of everything. started with the MAF setup

got them doneee not trying to get to a mirror finish really, plus my cat was busy trying to help the whole time

here that is

ghetto gauge cluster

anddddd onto more stripping and polishing

little shine to em

got the verdict motorsport shift bracket bushings

didnt seem like theyd make much of a difference when i was putting them in, but even the first time i shifted into a gear after installation i noticed it. its a much more defined snap into the gear position, its no longer sloppy.

anddd the engine bay now

spent the last 3 days on this damn intercooler. why was orange and blue a good combo to pick? ......... doubt i'll ever know that. enough of me and onto the pics.

started taking it apart

why?....... just... why?

and after about 6 miserable hours

another engine shot

id say the front end looks much cleaner without an orange and blue setup

i also replaced my air intake sensor! next is wait for my crack pipe and cooling stuff to come in

got the dash cleaned up and installed. was super gross when i picked it up but nothing a little cleaning cant change! out with the black and in with the beaver

and after some cleaning

the whole dash

this sucked

out with the black, in with the beaver. i plan on doing tan leather seats so im doing the brown dash with suede

then i wanted to texture the bumpers and side moldings so i started on that

got the dash in, and wrapped the knee bars in suede, a lighter tan that will match the seats and be done on the headliner as well.

kneebars

took out the airbag to put in an upper glove box

heres the start of texture

you've made some pretty good progress. the car was really fugly when you got it, some people just have no taste. i would recommend either modifying your front bumper so it fits correctly, or going with a different intercooler setup, i would really clean up the front some more.
