only way to figure it out is to ditch the FWD.

theres a few RWD and AWD GTI's its ALOT and by ALOT i mean ALOT of work. just search on vwvortex youll find them.

 

theres a rwd corrado thats pretty popular.. it requires cutting things to make it all fit, buying a transmission adapter/transmission, fabing a drive shaft, and whatever other odds and ins.

 

oh yeah most of the RWD GTI's weren't intended to be RWD they were converted to AWD but shit kept breaking and they ended up as RWD.

 

with the short wheel base its kinda pointless.
might as well buy a mr2 if your looking for that..

rwd mid engine short wheel base? sounds like a death trap to me..
and a rwd gti would be kinda odd? for a rwd swap i always thought jetta or corrado. but awd with rwd biast would be wayyyyyyyyyy cooler
