you have a TIG welder? plus youll need to shorten the oil pump pick up. better off getting engine spacers and notching the frame, at that point you need to worry about the clearance everywhere else. dont get me wrong id do it and just trash pans.

If anyone's intrested we'll have the bug on display for eurowarz. Will be about 90% complete at that point. The 3 member team is pretty easy to pick out. what are the engine specs on the bug? suspension specs too?

 

2.0 8v, nothing special. No dyno chart or anything yet. Under the hood is the last thing to get done.

Suspension is a combination of energy suspension bushings, ground control coil-overs, koni shocks/struts, GC camber plates, and addco rear bar. In the little bit of neighborhood driving I've been able to do feels pretty good with a bit of oversteer.

 

Not a very fast SCCA class then with a 8V. Suspension sounds like it should help you keep the speed through the corners though. Tires?
