What would lead you to believe the chains snapped? Were they really noisy when the motor was running?

no they werent noisy at all it was running PERFECT. then it just stopped. now when you go to start trhe car you can only hear the starter motor whining and the belts turn the cams and the chains dont move. any ideas? also we took off the cover off and the chains still look like they are on good

More details man.

But if your engine is "seized"... you need to crank the engine by hand with the spark plugs out... it should spin freely. Crank it 4 turns and stop when you're at TDC piston #1. Check your cams, they should be perfectly aligned on the ends and you should see a little half-moon or notch down on the intermediate shaft.

Check the upper tensioner bolt


how long did it run before it shut off?

lol no thats not my house that is my buddy mikes house his dad is fixing my car for me. also guys the car should be fixed tomorrow! bent the valves on my head but i got a new one stay tuned for updates
