new setup
Check it out ladies. I've yet to put any boost setup together because I'd like to drive it all motor for a while. This is a full mk4 GLI swap(engine, tranny, shifter, etc) running on Tec3. Should be finished this week. . . I'm only missing the belt tensioner!

haha notice i didn't use the coilpack per plug setup? I didn't want to waist time wiring those up. . .
I will be using the VVT as well as the manifolds VGI function. I just want 200 whp and i'll be happy. Then i'll move onto the haldex driveline.

you two both had 24v motors at once. . . have either of you driven a 12v before? I'm curious to hear some different experiences between the motors... with stock cams, the 12v fell on it's face at 5500 and i've been talking with people who are turning their 24v's up past 8000 (based on honda's 5 phase rsx-s tune). . .

yea the 12v definately has nothign on the 24v up top..
I actually had both my 12V GTI (Mk3) and my 24V Jetta at the same time for about 2 years. My 12v would pull on the Jetta from third gear and up (this was with my wife driving though, so take it for what it's worth). I honestly felt that the 24v still doesn't have the top end. With the 6 speed, smaller final for 1st & 2nd and Variable manifold, the 24V would just rip off the line, but I still felt like it didn't have the top end I wanted. It was completely stock where as my 12v was modded slightly. I ran a 9.8 in the 1/8 with my 12valve. I never took the jetta out, but my friend has a 24v GLI with intake, he put 182 to the front wheels on the dyno, and could only manage a 9.9. My GTI put 158 to the front wheels. I am sure 450 pounds made some of the difference too though. I think with a few "top end" mods, the 24V would be a really quick car.
The honest truth is most people drive like shit. With my old GTI, I used to beat up on a lot of cars that should have been faster. Don't get me wrong either, I love the 24v, the power is silky smooth, but I feel there is definitely room for improvement.
