oh yea i know what your saying... i beat a lot of cars i really shouldnt have beatin in my 24v..

but in all honesty the 24v REALLY opens up with the shrick cams.. i rode/drove in my friends 24v jetta that was chipped, exhaust, GIAC chip, and some sort of intake..i forget which brand.. but driving his car compaired to mine was like night and day..it felt like two completely different cars..it honestly feels like it has more tq than my mustang does.. and i pushed it closed to 153 mph..

those cams definately opened that car up..

*edit*

he also had nitto 555rII's on 16 inch rims that he put on when he goes out on weekends.. which made that car launch REALLLLLLLY fuckin hard..

You should have driven my R32 then, with intake and software it hauled. 160+ was fairly easy to obtain. Sometimes I really miss that car.

On a side note, I think a 2.8 block with the R head would pull pretty nice. The ports are MUCH larger on the R head.

oh ya.. im going to own an R32 within a couple years.. i HAVE to have one.. it's not an option lol.. but i say a couple years because when i get out of school my friends mom guarentee'd me if i came and work for her she would pay me no less than 50k a year starting off.. and she owns her own very successful business... and im single now with no kids, no major bills, etc etc... so i will finally be able to get one..

i know thats way off topic..just thought i'd share.. lol

I doubt it would have voided warranty. Most techs wouldn't notice the difference since both heads look the same. I think the only give away would be if you used the R manifold.

By then the R will be completely outdated, unless you want the Mk5, but that only comes with DSG (which I am not a fan of).

I guess a stripped MK4 R with a GT35R would be a fun weekend car if you can pick one up cheap. I would swap the bumpers for regular GTI pieces though so you can suprise the hell out of people (and maybe put a TDI badge on it).

if its outdated that just makes it that much better... but ya.. a completely stripped "tdi gti" with a gt35r sounds like a reallllllly fun car.. hopefully i will be able to do this later on... it just seems a looooong ass ways away...

the head went for 600 bucks too.. which i had more than enough to get it at the time.. i should have just done it.. i would have DEFINATELY pulled the motor then after the wreck..

Tell me about it, I am going back to school starting next month. I have plans for a nasty german car (which I could build now), but with school and my daughter, I am just don't want to invest the time or money right now.

ya i know how it goes man... i've been kinda fucked since the wreck.. my job released me because i didnt have insurance to go to the doctor to get cleared so i could go back to work... and i've got a lot of other shit going on too..it also caused me to lose the apartment i was staying in... so i had to move back in with the parentals..which suckssss... but oh well.. im just going to start over.. the mustang is a perfect car to drive everyday..

caan when do you think you will have the car up and running?
