thnx for all the info everybody.. but my friend is runnin 11 psi on a stock dx civic w/ a ported head and it seems to be runnin fine.. y is it that the vr6 engines are stronger but they dont do well past 10 psi?? and y shouldnt i do past 10 if the engines are so strong???

As I have stated before, the HEADGASKET.

Here, in case you missed it...

Headgasket

If you get a MLS gasket, and properly tune the car, you can go past 10psi. The stock bottom end is stout. The problems I have seen is people trying for big power without proper tuning. The stock compression is 10:1, so with out proper tuning you will get detonation. And trying to compare a VR6 to a 4 cylinder honda is pointless.

are you sure that it is the HEADGASKET and not the HEADBOLTS???? i have always heard the stock headbolts stretch when ever you go turbo and thats y you have to upgrade them.. and lildrpap i already spank him lol...

na they'll only stretch when you torque them. there's 20 headbolts going into that block . . . with a tensil strength of 110k psi each. No kinetics kit gonna stretch that.
