Default mk4 spark plugs

is it hard to change them? i havent even had much time to get under the hood of this car to take a look at everything, but i just found out that the $490 40k mile tune up is due, and ive already done most of it myself so why pay that much? it consisted of new spark plugs, oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter, and rotating the tires... how in the hell does that constitute a $490 price tag? so anyway, all i have to do now is the rotation of tires (obviously easy as hell) and the spark plugs. what do i do when i change a spark plug? i know its a really dumb question, but ive never actually done it.

Before you actually take the plug out it is a good idea to use compressed air to get any debris out. You don't want junk falling onto/into the piston/combustion chamber.

One more thing, I know I'm not talking to an idiot but I know some people skip steps they probably shouldn't...

Whenever you're putting in new plugs always turn them counter clockwise first. 'Feel' them sit into place before going clockwise. Cross threading spark plug seats is a monumental pain in the ass.

so do i have to take off the intake? it goes right over the spark plugs. i actually had some time to take off the plastic shield and look for them.

the 4 metal intake things go right over the spark plugs. why the hell doesnt vw just wrap the intake around the front instead of making it come from the back and go over the engine? wouldnt that create some unecissary heat?
