boost gauge help
I bought a boost gauge and I have everything hooked up except for the back light for the gauge. there are two wires, a brown one and a green one. I know one hooks up to the light switch and one to the dimmer I was just wondering if anyone knew what wires went where an what wires to splice the gauge wires into.
thanks.
steve.

On your dimmer one wire has 12V going into it, and the other wire has variable voltage coming out. The wire that changes voltage goes to one wire on the bulb, the other wire on the bulb goes to GROUND.
If your dash lights turn on, your ground is good, and the bulb is not blown its gotta work.

there are two wires that are coming from the boost gauge. (brown and green) I just cant figure out where to wire them into the light switch so when I turn my dash lights on the back light for the gauge does also.

You dont have one of those indiglo gauges do you?
SOme of them have a ballast type deal and they dont dim, they work until the voltage goes down and just go out.
Or does it have your average, every day bulb?
Does your dimmer have one of the wires coming out of it being grey with a green stripe?
For some reason Im thinkin thats the color of the dimmer wire, but I have way too many cars in the mind.

well, it dont matter which wires on the light you hook up to ground, but one has to be grounded. Make sure the place you are grounding it is actually a ground. Theres lots of metal peices in the dash that dont actually get grounded.
You only have two wires on the dimmer IIRC... if the light is grounded and the bulb is good, either one will turn on the lights when the lights are turned on. Just one wont dim. So if you dont have anything turning on, chances are its not your power source.
