ok, my buddy has an '00 A4 that hes lookin to play with a little bit, hes not a racer so speed isnt all that important, hes more for show,

so heres the question, he has the 1.8T motor in it, and he wants to upgrade the exhaust, Bypass valve, and put a CAI on it, now my question is where should he look to get it, and what should he look for??

oh yeah, and another question hes been buggin me with, when he upgrades the bypass valve will he be able to get the "BOV"
sound out of it? (its an auto/tip tranny'd car so i know he wont get it like manual cars, but will it make that sound at all?)

 

he can upgrade to any BOV but he will need to have a custom cld pipe made up w/ the flange welded on, not the cheapest way to go, he will get the sound, not when he shifts but when he lets off the gas real fast, thats about it, but the 1.8t isn't pushing enough boost to really make any noise from something like a SSQ, or Type S or RFL, they usually need 1 bar or more to get that "good" (*shudders*) sound other wise they tend to sound sickly.

There are no REAL cold air intakes for the A4, all of them just move an open filter right next to the turbo to get the hottest air ever into the car.

if he wants a good exhaust go APR.


*cliff notes* get the 225TT BPV, get a K&N panel filter, and spend $1000 on APR exhaust

 

hahahahaha, i think that a grand on the exhaust alone may turn him off a little bit

 

$1000 for the exhaust is most likely a turbo back exhaust, including down pipe.

 

unfortunately that is what most audi exhausts go for, high priced german car = high priced parts

 

unless you go custom with a MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER!
