Default interested in buying a vw. looking for opinions

don`t know much about them specificly. i`m looking for a daily driver, mid to late 90`s, sporty but not too small with good hp rating that has good aftermarket following for upgrades. what are the bennifits of the 1.8t over v6? i`m really liking the golf body style. you can email/im me if you want.

vr6- good out of the box
1.8t- the ratio money spent on upgrades vs. added power is greater.

1.8t + chip, CAI, turbo-back exhaust + great driver = 14.0

only in a 2002.5 or newer, they have the K03 Hybrid turbo. The older cars had the standard K03

actually most AWW engines came with the k03/k04 turbo so that's 2001 and forward.

MDIFYTD is right. The K03 Sport or Hybrid came with the 2001+ with 180hp I believe. Yet EVERYONE failed to notice that you said mid to late 90's and the 1.8T engine was not out in the 90's. If you want to get a MK3 Volkswagen Jetta or GTI, I'd most certainly go with the VR6. Your only other choice would be the 2.0 8v.
