Default Boosted gsr eg hatch on low boost

Specs on setup:
-Bone stock usdm gsr block
-Fully built usdm gsr head (port/polish,valvetrain,cams)
-880 cc Precision injectors
-Walboro 255 fuel pump
-Tial external wastegate and bov
-Garret 60 trim on 9 Psi
-Stage 4 clutch from Competition Clutch
-Tuned by Jeff Evans.

Seems to run good. The peakboost kit is a great kit. Lift the skirt and take it past 8... thats torture to watch someone do that...

He's on a stock block which is why i'm guessing he never took it past 8k but of course all we can do is guess.

brands1284 The motor actually blew, a little after that video was put together, cause that bottom end was shot. I put in a brand new jspec ls bottom end, so now its ls vtec, but I'm tryin to sell it cause I need money so I havnt uped the boost but I know it could take it and would riip..

rode the fuck out tho while it ran

Hmm, I see this as a reminder that while its possible to get some good numbers in the short run with some high strung setups, what does it matter if can't stay together for more than a few hard runs?

My 2.5L puts down about 300 to the wheels through AWD and runs 20 lbs of boost all day long AND it should hopefully hold together well past the quarter million mile mark.

What's the good of any amount of power if its going to blow up after a few runs?

If you would read the thread, you would've seen that BlackZ28 posted a quote that states the bottom end was shot. Which is why it blew. Stock GSR's can make VERY good power.
