not arguing just confused on that statement????
Most cars will ET better on a slick compared to a DR. But a DR is a much stiffer, more efficient tire. There is less sway and rolling resitance. So most cars will trap higher on a DR then they do a slick

Tire pressure also plays a big key, you want to run as much tire pressure as you can without spinning. That will get the car down the track more efficiently.

Now there are some SERIOUS drag rasial cars running NASTY times on even small 10wide DRs. They are setting records left and right on DRs. Pretty much all of them are auto cars though.

But for a stick car, the best bet is going to be a bias ply slick to absorb the shock of the hit on the launch.

I likw to run a DR on the street and a slick at the track.

We just like racing thats all. Were semi new to racing at the track but each time we go the car gets a little faster. With some suspension mods were chasing a 7.9 in the eighth. Dont know what that would equal out to in the quarter. We live like 2 minutes from sunshine so were always running the eighth.
