The first evo got a late start on the drag but at least he was driving it hard, the evo X wasnt even pushing. It was auto btw... Im not saying it would have won otherwise cause im not arguing either way, but the tranny was shifting right on 7k while the sti was slamming gears all the way up to and past 8k. I dont think thats a fair fight.

the autos are faster in the 1/4 in the new evos, they have that dual clutch shit that works really well, rpms dont mean more power... thats just the difference in redline, 8k for sti and 7k for evo. he didnt use the launch control, the new evos (if im not mistaken) come with launch control.

how can you suck at driving auto? all you do is press the gas. and why would you change the shift points? the redline is 7k, its not a honda so it doesn't need to see 9.5k rpms to see any power at all.
so im supposed to rev my KA to 8k to be faster? rpms are not power.

I love how people come and criticize someones driving when they probably suck at driving worse than the person they're criticizing.

+1 the new EVO has volkswagens DSG. Fucking fast shifts. Im not sure about the EVO, but the DSG GTI is something like 3/4 second faster in the quarter than the manual version, and in DSG mode, the driver chooses when to shift, he can take it right to redline all day.
