stock motor/tranny will handle 500+ whp with proper tuning. Its not about the boost levels.....
there are many stock turbo srt4s spiking 22psi dropping to 16-18psi and the Stage 3 upgrade can be setup to spike 26-28psi dropping to 18-20psi. On a big turbo ive seen a couple of cars spike/creep to 26-28psi...stock motor, clutch, axles and tranny too
its all in the tune/fuel....

500 hp on stock internals? Even properly tuned that motor would have issues eventually(I would think). Granted I've never owned a SRT-4 but with my experience with turbo charged cars I've never seen a 4cyl put down those kinds of #'s on a stock motor and last very long. I guess anything is possible though.
Gotta love that background music. Half the members on this forum where probably 10 years old when that was released.lol

Those charger's are fat pigs for only having "425hp" and weighing in at more than 2 tons! It's a nice family car though, but even a new GTO will slap it silly... My friend has a skittle with a stock turbo running 22psi, and he hasn't had any problems to date. I think most people that run into problems just don't have their car tuned right....
I'm sorry, I'm chocking at some the ignorrant comment s being placed on here. A stock GTO you mean the GTO that only turn 13.7-13.9 in 1/4 (not slow by any means for a stock vehicle) and a stock srt8 turning 13.2-13.4, and a stock cobra turning in the same times, now a win maybe but there would no slapping of silliness going on there. You are correct on one thing a 4 DOOR FAMILY sedan keepin up with 2 DOOR SPORTS CARS is damn sure enough impressive for me. Pound for pound the SRT-8 is one the baddest things on four wheels, lets add some weight and a few more doors to the GTO and Cobra and I can guarante you that the SRT-8 would walk them for miles. One other thing is, that chrysler restricts the computers on all those cars to not release full power to the motor until it has 5,000 miles or 150 operating hours on it, I can assure that car only had a couple hundred miles on it, let it get the necessary hrs and mileage on it, run that race again and it will be a little closer.
