and its absolutly not a excuss if i accidently launched my jetta in reverse i would diss own myself.... wtf...you have to give it a good push to go down then slide it into where first is and BAM whatya know REVERSE>..lol.. i keep playing it over and over.. too funny..

 

i bought my 05 GTI in june.
i got stuck for a couple of minutes tring to get in reverse. i'm tring to manhandle it.... limp wrist move..nothing.. stuck ...then i took extra care to :
push the shifter down ,feel the notch? move left then up (while shifter is depressed) ... reverse gone ~CYA

also my boyz 05 STI has a lever mech . in order to get R/1-3-5
