I'll say it again, there is a reason AWD is banned or penalized, while FWD is simply not run. Amateur racing really doesn't mean anything to me. When it counts, at the highest levels of motorsport, FWD is nowhere to be found, because it is a packaging compromise that is no good for maximum performance in any form of motorsport.
Your fucking nuts. Unless you consider drag racing NOT a motorsport! Almost NO ONE runs AWD!!! It is inherently heavy and breakable!!!

did you ever notice that if someone puts somethin about a wrx/sti, someone with an srt4 or another fwd is quick to reply with a negative post? lol n vice versa. srt4s are quick out of the box specially for its price, but comeon man, this is a no brainer. Almost like that argument about a dsm being on the same level as a skyline. lol

And how would this car do in a proper NHRA class with classic regs, i.e. Pro Stock? When I see FWD funny or rail cars, I'll start to care. Honestly, I did not even know Neons were running in the FWD classes...figured Stephen Whathisname with the Civic and the Cavalier guys were dominating this class. Haven't ever seen an FWD class race, but when one of them traps over 300mph or puts down some 4s, let me know. RWD=the best platform for going drag racing...if not, why aren't you converting your little project car into a FWD monster?

First of all, they created a FWD class because their was a demand for it, not because it is a better way to go drag racing. Under identical regs, FWD cars will get owned at every level of drag racing. You allow the cars to be light enough, modified enough, they may run competitively at some levels, but you will not ever see a FWD dragster going 4s at 333mph.

AWD is banned or heavily penalized in most touring car classes. Look it up, the information is freely available on the web.

Are you guys really arguing that FWD is a better platform than RWD or AWD to go fast? Are you, really? And you're calling me nuts????

Rally, circuit race, drag race or oval race a FWD car running identical weight/horsepower/structural standards as their RWD or AWD competitors and tell me how you do.

No I am saying that RWD, not AWD, owns at the strip. You make it sound as if FWD is totally worthless and slow.

IMO.. AWD is good for snow and ice otherwise... I am not interested. I can get good short times with sticky tires. If I want to autoX, and win, I will buy a Vet
