Stock 302 with 120m thousand miles on it against your 1.8 with a supposed 3k spent ... hmmm I still call the Chevy/Ford 302....
No way in hell you are going to make 500 BHP on a 1.8 litre with 3 k... 3k into a muscle car, no let's just say a 305 or 302 or shti even a 350 wouldn't close you in on 500 BHP... You could probly make high 300 range with a supercharger maybe low 400, but sorry on that 500 hp figure cause if that were the case I'd be doing it just like everyone else.
