but i'd like to chime in here.

If the SRT pulls on a stock 240 great. But I think some of you boys from the SRT camp bite off more then you can chew.
Comparing a neon to a 240 or better yet the SR series engine all together is almost rude IMO. Don't get me wrong, I have a great bit of respect for the SRT, but I think the whole camp is getting a bit ahead of themselves. How long have these cars been around? a year or two? and the SR20DET? 240SX? 15 years.

Its understandable that you want to compare the SRT to what IMO is the best 4cyl engine ever engineered. But only time will tell and can be a true testimate to how overly engineered the SRT4 really is. Personally cost cutting steps like casting the manifold and exhaust housing together makes me wonder. I'm eager to see what state of repair the neon will be in 10-15 years.

this is my biased opinion but I feel it needed to be said.

 

im not saying an srt4 is better, the argument was stock vs stock as how they are now...i know the sr20 has been around for 15 or so years, i also stated that i almost bought one before my srt4. and i am not talking shit if you read back a little bit more ive been saying lets do this record it and post it up to end this already!

and another thing i was posting alot because somebody who i thought (COUGH PENIS COUGH) was my friend came on here and talked shit/lied about the whole race and liars just piss me off...

Stock sr20 vs. Stock SRT-4

 

I wasn't referring to you specifically, and I don't think you cought the jist of my post. I couldn't care less if you walk a stock SR20.

Here, this should give you skittle's something further to think about. How about beating a SR20VET stock vs stock?

it wouldn't happen. Just remember boys and girls, the only thing that beats a Nissan is a better Nissan

 

the srt4 runs 2 times the boost the sr20det does from the factory (s13 trim) and almost half a liter more displacment int the motor. Make it an Sr24det 2.4 liters and give it 14 pounds of boost and it will pull similar numbers. And if we are talking apples to apples then compare the drive train. The S13 is superior for its RWD bulletproof drive train and solid motor that has proven itself over and over to be ultimately indestructable unless an idiot or rookie tunes it. Srt4 motors are awsome to but suffer from the FWD layout and the capability of the car overall to handle is limited with its high ceter of gravity and less the par wieght disribution.

 

yes traction is always an issue, i just want everybody who has an sr20 to know that i respect your motors and never once said anything negative about them, just simply comparing them stock for stock because thats the argument that was at hand. but anyway i agree about what your saying anyway
