The Cops did the right thing IMO. The office told the guy that he was investigating a fight between him and the girl. The Cowboy was being a dick. He didn't listen to what the officer said. As for the girl in the truck.............She is a retard. With all the stupid shit that people pull these days, I think that they did the right thing. Cops are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They had no idea what she was going to do. The only thing that you can say for sure is that she was going to try and stop that cop from arresting her father. I didn't hear her telling her dad to coperate when they asked to see his ID. You try puting yourself in that position and see what you would have done.

I see nothing wrong with what went down there. The guy had ID with him, but refused to show it. If he didn't have ID, then he didn't have a license, and obviously the daughter was in the passenger seat, so what does that tell you? This guy was a jackass who refused to cooperate, therefore he got arrested.

This officer did nothing wrong. To begin with he was called there to investigate a domestic fight, so the argument that he says he is investigating an investiagtion has no relevance. Secondly, Dudley begs the officer to arrest him when he refuses to show his I.D., who in their right mind would beg an officer to arrest them. If Dudley did not have I.D. with him then he simply could have told the officer he has no I.D. and the officer would have taken down his name and date of birth to verify who he is. Officers simply want to know who they are dealing with, otherwise, people could just make up names and possibly walk away even though they are wanted criminals.
As for Mimi, she understandable was hysterical because her Dad was being arrested, but it is never wise to run toward a police officer doing his job. Those officers have no idea what her intentions were as she ran at the officer who was arresting her Dad, so they handcuffed her for their safety. Are there bad cops, you bet, just like there are bad doctors, postal workers, etc... but Dove ain't one of them.

I had a incident kinda like that but i was just being a smart ass so they slamed me on the car and pepper sprayed me then charged me with resisting arrest. One of my friends got smacked and somone called the police the and the police isisted I smacked them. Im fighting it though I hate hillsborough county sherrifs and pinellas.....
This is a great example of someone who should not be a police officer. He has no training in how to handle a problem like this the way I see it. Instead of defusing the situation he makes it worse. This police officer stepped out of line almost right off the bat. He does not need ID to figure out what is going on, he needs to talk with both parties involved. I understand when you leave the north eastern states law enforcement seems to be second rate but come on. If these two were troopers or polices officers where my family works they would be fired and probably face worse charges. This was handled horrably. Slap a HCSO uniform on them and you have most cops in this area. All you have to do is look at the nevada state police homepage to see that they will take just about everyone who applies. when you are a police officer you MUST operate in a standard that is higher then others, you must be polite, personable, able to work out situations without force. Police officers (at least where I am from) are not out to get people like this officer, they are there to serve and protect without acting like high schoolers. Thats my .02 cents.
I think the officers did the wrong thing the whole time.
As mentioned above the man in the cowbow hat should have had his information jotted down on paper from one of the cops as I have had done a few times for either not having an ID with me as I was to young or for a police incident report to be filed. First off he doesn't have to show ID for shit. The cop was not cooperating with him so why should he? The cop seemed to be a little crooked with that attitude "Im investigating and investigation" WTF is the bullshit? I wanna know what your investigating and what I have done wrong and or there will be no discussion between me and you, period..
They should have checked the daughter to see if she was all beat up or bruised instead of rampaging the scene like a bunch of local goons and rookie cops and then once they found that the daughter was actually not beaten up , let them both go their seperate ways or together back in the same truck if they please..
Glad I live in the county where none of that bogus shit would come up.

Exactly. Unless I am going to be charged or arrested you do not have the right to see my ID. That situation was handled totally wrong.
A bit off topic but Nor do they have the right to search my car. Print this and put it in your glovebox to hand the the officer if you are ever pulled over and "asked" to be searched.
"Under advice of my attorney to protect my Constitutional Rights, I do not give consent for you to search my vehicle. If you feel you have probable cause to search my vehicle, please present your evidence to a duly appointed magistrate for issuance of a legal search warrant to conduct the search. If I am detained as a result of this process and there is no evidence of illegal activity on my part, my attorney will be initiating civil action against you, your department and the city for unlawful detainment and defamation of character by implying that I was taking part in illegal activities. My attorney will also initiate a complaint through the Department of Justice for violating my 4th Amendment Rights under the Constitution of the United States."

Print that shit, learn it, read it everyday, repeat it over and over until its in your head without a doubt and you know it 100 percent by heart so you wont even have to show paper. Just tell the cop who ask's you to step out of your vehicle so he can look around your car. He has no right unless you have been doing drugs or look to have been doing something illigal , drugs or otherwise. If your papers are in order and all that then let the cop sit and stew in his own shit. He must have a reason to pull you over and dont be fooled into their con artist ways. They will try anything to get a moron out of the car to probe their nose a little further into your business..
