Because it affects the performance of the website. Site locks up when someone searches the entire site.

It's disabled for now until we can work out how to still allow search without breaking the site.

 

This all makes sense now. Stupid disable crap. I've been trying to figure out why it comes and goes faster than a womans mood swings. Reallyyyyyyyy annoying. Trying to find threads, especially when trying to buy/sell to research stuff sucks.

 

i hate it, iv lost like 4 threads because i cant search for them.

really hope this issue is fixed soon.

 

damn that sucks guys, hopefully you can figure it out, although a quick Google search indicated a similar problem with large forums on vBulletin.

 

any way to make it specify a date, so it only has to pull say a month worth of posts? say like 3 yr and older, 1 -3 yr, 10-12mo, 6-10mo, 3-6mo, 1-3mo, now-1mo...
