Default sold truck but now want another....advice?

sold my f250 light duty on 35's for a good price considering the high miles and list of problems.....yet already found myself saying i need a truck to do something. I liked the truck but gas was horrible for a dd, i like my 04 Nissan altima as a DD because it is smooth, has plenty of room, a nice all around car, and good on gas......So i find myself now thinking i need to put 2 into 1 and get a mid/full size 4 door truck that is nice and functional....

I am looking to trade in my altima which is mint and hopefully get $5k, also have about $4k cash and looking to spend under $20k total OTD for something 05 or newer. Im really leaning towards a 07 avalanche, they look nice, are still a truck and are around 17/23k anyone have any feedback on them??

Fuel mileage and truck should never be in the same sentence when your talking full size. If you want full size with decent mileage look in to 3/4 ton with a diesel

my truck was a 3/4 ton and got about 7-10 mpg, i would like at least 17-20 even if the truck is a v6....definitely no diesel, maybe if it was a work truck but not for a DD. doesn't really have to be full size but 4 door short or long bed....I am really liking the new body style avalanche out of all the ones i have been looking at.

actually your truck was a heavy half ton. it was a F150 with 7700 payload package. it was not 3/4 ton...

something like that....odd thing i met a guy with a 7700 and his had 150 badges and was way smaller than mine (not accounting in the small lift and 35" tires)....But that truck is now a;most 12 years old and sold so time for something new...leaning towards a more "luxry"/truck rather a work truck but under or around 20k

The newer GM's with the 6.2 and displacement on demand are supposedly good for about 20mpg.

My friend has a 2008ish F150 crew cab 4x4 on 20's (not lifted), and he gets like 17-18 in combined driving. That's with a 5.4 and auto.

Like he said diesels will get you much better fuel economy but will cost you more to buy in the first place. No matter what though (full size, compact, car, etc) diesel>gas

diesel is the way of the future. I plan on swapping a 4bt in place of my 5.4 when it decides its done. I know of several that throw no SES light and with twins are making 400-500 rwhp and 750-850 rwtq out of a 3.9L 4 cylinder. It will be done.
