well, ive had the truck about 3 years. cab and hood and fenders are rusted bad. cab is way way beyond repair. fleetside bed panels are great as is the tail gate. rear bed piec has rust at the top but can be bought new. i almost sold this truck a few times now but glad i didnt. i finally found a truck for parts. got a 66 c10 with no motor or trans. body isnt perfect but close enough for me. a lil surface rust insde in lil tiny spots from sitting but only rust hole is in the lower rear drivers side fender. ill just buy the fender corners to fix it. cant wait to swap the body. my 64 has front wheel disc, power brakes, power steering, sbc 400, 12 bolt 3.73 rear, which im going to swap to discs as well soon. i have a th400 trans to replace the powerglide, some 291 heads with 64cc chambers with 2.02/1.6 valves, old mickey thompson valve covers, edlebrock performer intake and plan to grab a 750cfm carb to replace the 600cfm it has now. i really cant wait to get all this done so i can start driving it.heres some pics to show how bad/good each truck is.

btw, anyone know how much a basic airbag kit is? i need the cheap one with the compressor, and only want front/back movement and for it to be slow up and down. raise it from cruising and then drop it when at car shows and stuff when its all finished. from what ive read the airbags give a nice smooth ride so figure if its not much more then the new drop springs and shocks etc.. ill go that route.

 

if you want slow fill and dump id run 1/4" line...but thats slow as death...3/8" i think is a "best of both worlds" its quick enough where it doesnt take hours but slow enough that you dont hit the switch and youre laid out. theres alot of universal kits out there, you just have to be good at welding and fab'in.

 

well i dont want to feel a jerk at all when raising or lowering. and yeah a universal kit would be fine. ive got no prob doing the fab myself. also, can the pump be mounted in the open? i have a wood bed and was thinking of mounting it under the bed next to the gastank when i istall the kit to chenge from in cab to under bed gas tank. or will weather hurt it? if so i can mount it inside the cab behind the seat. just figured this would give me the best of both worlds. slammed at car shows and raised for driving around so no rubbing the ground.
