1988 chevy s10...46xxx miles original
yeah its got low mile but now runnin into problems....the rod is knocking and having fuel problems....what should i do? its the stock 2.8 v6 motor. should i rebuild or go with something bigger and better.
v8 swap, gm's 60 degree v6 is the worst motor ever made, i went through 3 of them, one 2.8 and two 3.4, they are all notorious for thier weak bottom end. a v8 or a 4.3 v6 would be a faster, more reliable replacement
V8 conversion manuals, parts for V8 S10, Datzun Z, Jaguar, Chevy TPI & TBI, Colorado, Astro Van V8, Volvo 200 & 700 and www.V8S10.org are good sites for info on the swaps, just find a donor car with a carberated v8 and buy the swap headers and mounts, it's all nickel and dime stuff from there-sapper
i got a 355 with th350 if your interested. whole longblock was just rebuilt, has 0 miles on it. ill make ya a deal.

s10-V8 conversion book
S10-V8 oilpan
Rear end reposition brakets
bunch of other misc.
I paid $800 for the conversion stuff, Il take $600 obo or $2100 for the Engine and the conversion stuff.
Since you have a 2.8L S10 you will need a Tranny from a 4.3L S10 Truck/Blazer. I can also get almost Any part you need for that truck.
