they dont have any tq..and i have seen far more lifted 4cyl jeeps getting stuck than the 6cyl and other swapped jeeps..

when we went out to rancho..we had a 4cyl jeep with us...it couldnt make it up the washout..and it couldnt make it through half the shit we all went through...but i dont know what im talking about..dont listen to me..

You just want to listen/feel for anything out of the norm (mainly in the areas of the differentials/axles and tranny/transfer case, check for leaks around the transfer case, etc. Find out what he's done to maintain it...oil, tranny, and differential fluid changes. You'll probably want to do a full on tune up if you end up getting it to be sure everything is how it should be.

engines don't get you stuck, low clearance and too small of a tire does. besides the gearing on the 4 banger makes up for the lost torque of the 6.

You should add inexperienced offroaders to that list as well.

um...not really..

so if an under powered motor cant turn the tires thats on it..how is it supposed to move? what fun is it to mud sling in creep mode? 4cyl jeeps have no balls..and they get stuck more often than anything else i see..

if the tire isn't spinning the diff is open and your other tire is spinning like mad, if you've got lockers and the tires aren't spinning, your clutch/torque convertor is slipping. people very very very rarely get stuck because they can't turn their tires, and if they do, they are running a huge tire with massive amount of tractions, and in which case they need to regear anyway. your argument sucks, admit it.

It's called gearing.
