Recently, Heritage convened our Countering China Coalition for an off-the-record meeting.

The group of 21 leaders at the retreat included senior leaders from the Trump administration, former military officers, state government officials, and members from the private sector.

This week, I’ve heard from many Heritage members how troubled they are by China’s surveillance balloon invading US airspace over Montana.

Many people are realizing for the first time what we have been boldly saying for years – the Chinese Communist Party is the most dangerous foreign threat facing the American people today.

With your support, Heritage has been far ahead of the curve to expose China’s human rights violations, aggressive military build-up, theft of our jobs and technology, and global economic coercion.

We need to do everything in our power to eliminate these threats. This year, Heritage is drafting model legislation to protect and strengthen states so they can push back against foreign adversaries like the CCP.

Tomorrow will mark 50 years of fighting together behind enemy lines to stop The Left’s radical agenda and defend what matters to hardworking Americans like you.

But I’m emailing you today because despite the many hard-fought victories we have earned, what matters most right now is what we are willing and able to do going forward.

Because right now, The Left is using every tool they have to irrevocably alter America’s future and undermine our nation’s rule of law, sabotage our founding values, and erode the fundamentals of human flourishing: faith, family, freedom, America, and even human life itself.

The Left ignores the will of everyday citizens in favor of scoring cheap political points and catering to the demands of special-interest groups and corporate lobbyists. They have no qualms spending our country into insurmountable debt or increasing the debt limit and leaving you to pay the bill. They are selling out your future to the highest bidder—including Communist China.

They are trampling your freedoms, leading us down a path to a dystopian future where you will own nothing, where you will be persecuted for exercising your individual rights, and where you will be given no means by which to redress your grievances.

To make matters worse: this is all being aided by Washington elites on both sides of the aisle, who say one thing but vote another way. If this is allowed to continue, we risk a future with no one to stand up against the powers that be.

This current state of our republic must serve as an urgent call to action for all conservatives.

If we don’t stand united, proclaim once and for all that enough is enough, and take action right now, then the America we know and love will be lost to The Left and gone forever for the next generation.

We will lose our freedoms. We will lose our values. And we will be led so far down the wrong path that we lose our identity—left to face a terrifying world where big government crushes our liberties and America is no longer able to protect freedom around the world.

This isn’t hypothetical. And it isn’t far away. The very future of our nation hangs in the balance of Americans’ willingness to take action now by mounting a united front against The Radical Left.

50 years is just the beginning

It was on this day in 1973 that Heritage was officially founded—less than a month after the Supreme Court’s devastating decision in Roe v. Wade. And now here we are today.

The Supreme Court’s recent and historic decision to strike down Roe is a testament to what the conservative movement can accomplish when we are united and refuse to back down from the fight.

The perseverance of Americans like you is something that is on my mind and heart, particularly this Founder’s Day. But I am also reminded of how much work there is left to do.

How far we’ve come, and how long it took us to get here, should serve as a potent example of just how much further we must go in the fight to defend America’s future and save our nation from being lost to The Radical Left’s unrelenting efforts to destroy our democracy and extinguish the freedoms you and I cherish.

Today, The Radical Left has been emboldened to push its dangerous anti-American agenda throughout every level of society—indoctrinating our children, restricting your individual freedom, infiltrating our industry and media, and undermining the strength of our economy and our national defense.

Their ultimate goal? To create a government so big that it crushes the opportunities, uniqueness, and liberty of every American citizen while forcing uniform conformity to their warped vision of the future. They don’t want to answer to anyone and especially do not want people like us to have a say in how our society functions. They want to force us to watch as they render our once great nation unrecognizable.

I wish this were hyperbole, Bob, but the simple truth is that if we don’t fight back today, there will be no one left to hold them accountable, resulting in a society that bears no resemblance to the common-sense wishes of everyday Americans like you.

And in such an environment without accountability, The Left’s agenda will continue to be allowed to progress until we have gone so far down the wrong path that it will be too late to turn back—and America as we know it will be lost forever.

As we stand here today, celebrating 50 years of unflinching commitment to the good of everyday Americans, our eyes are fixed firmly ahead. And my promise to you is that just as Heritage never stopped fighting to overturn Roe, we will never stop fighting against The Left’s attempts to destroy your America.

But the next two years are critical. And they could very well decide the fate of your way of life. We have two choices. We can sit on the sidelines while The Radical left undoes the very fabric of our republic. Or we can stand together on the front lines and fight back.
