What happened when 2 armed thugs entered his local barbershop looking for easy targets & fast cash...

Today I want to tell you the terrifying true story of USCCA Member David Jackson...

A man who was forced to use his firearm to defend his family, who quite frankly, are the very reason he carries his gun in the first place.

You see, it all happened on a normal day at Next Step Barbershop in South Carolina...

Nothing seemed different about that day to David...

Except for the fact that he was in a rush and by chance, he went to the second barber chair instead of his usual 1st.

Shortly after sitting down, 2 masked men walked in, one with a long gun and the other with a pistol...

Time slowed down for David, and the world got quiet as he watched the chaos erupt...

His girlfriend grabbed their children, pulling them in close...

David pleaded with the robbers not to shoot for the sake of his kids who were watching in horror just a few feet away...

But the gunmen advanced, demanding everyone turn over their money and valuables.

One of them knocked the barber down and shoved the barrel end of his shotgun up against his head...

David was convinced the armed thug would shoot him right then and there–with his 3 kids watching.

As the gunman collecting valuables got closer, David was forced to make a split second decision...

Should he draw his firearm even though he was outnumbered 2 to 1...?

David looked at his family-frozen in terror-and knew what he had to do...

He stopped the approaching gunman and directed him towards his coat lying on a nearby seat to avoid being patted down...

And when the gunman walked away David took his one opportunity to save his family:

He drew his gun and fired.

The smell of gunsmoke filled the air...

...and the wounded gunmen fled out the back door, collapsing into a pool of red in the street.

Startled, the 2nd gunman fled, with David's next shot missing him by an inch, maybe two...

David called 911 and the police brought him in for questioning...

Upon arrival at the police station, David used his one phone call to contact the USCCA Critical Response Team...

He was instantly connected with a team member who provided him with all of the resources and information he needed to get home to his family...

And got him one of the best self-defense attorneys in the state of South Carolina.

Needless to say, the USCCA helped ease David's nerves and walked him through the entire process step-by-step, making his experience as comfortable and painless as possible.

David was not charged with any crime.

Responding to a Verbal Challenge

By Kevin Michalowski // 01/16/2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71aOJjgNQJE

A viewer asked what he should do if someone was catcalling or being rude to his wife. The right answer is: Keep on walking.
Rudeness is not a reason to pull your gun. Not ever. If you are faced with catcalling or other rude behavior, it is your job to avoid the conflict and escape safely if you can.
Now, if things escalate and the verbal assault becomes a physical assault or even a legitimate threat of physical assault, then you can use force to defend yourself. But, as always, you are required to use the lowest level of force that will stop the threat.
If someone is just being rude, making lewd or suggestive comments or simply acting like a fool, your best option is to leave the area. Even if you have right to be there, do you really want to be the spark that causes the situation to escalate? If that happens, you will have a much bigger legal headache to deal with as you try to prove that you didn’t provoke your assailant.
By the same token, if your assailant moves from rudeness to making threats of violence, then you will have the right to respond. If you feel you cannot escape the situation safely, you must choose the lowest level of force required to stop the threat. Remember, investigating officers will be looking at the totality of the circumstances to determine if you will be charged with a crime following the incident. Because of this, you need to be able to clearly articulate why you chose to use the level of force you did.
It is also important that you win the race to call 911. The first caller to 911 becomes the complainant and responding officers will arrive on the scene looking for the caller. Criminals know this very well and will often call police in an effort to get their false statement about the incident on record. When calling police, don’t make any admissions of guilt, but do provide a good description of the person who attacked you and as much information as possible to help responding officers find that person. This includes direction of travel, a vehicle license number and other information relevant to the investigation.
Never let anyone who has made aggressive or suggestive comments get close enough to touch or grab you. Create space. Use cover. Give loud and clear verbal commands ordering — not requesting — that the person leave you alone. This will help with your legal defense by turning bystanders into witnesses. Investigators will look at the totality of the circumstances, and making it clear that you wanted your attacker to leave you alone is one of the best ways to ensure anyone nearby knows what is going on.
Be Aware of Your Surroundings
Situational awareness will help keep you alive. Conflict avoidance is the other side of that coin. If you see something out of the ordinary, immediately formulate a plan and begin to act on that plan.

[h=1]Planting Seeds: How to Reach the Anti-Gun People in Your Life[/h] By Beth Alcazar // 01/10/2017
I’ve mentioned a time or two before about having several friends and family members who are not fans of firearms. I also know many people who are somewhat okay with the idea of owning guns, but they are not fans of the Second Amendment or concealed carry permit holders. And then there are those who are completely against everything having to do with guns (perhaps they are just blinded by the host of misinformation and lies from social media, TV and movies).
Whatever the case may be, we all know those anti-gun people. They may be at work, at church, in our circle of friends or even within the walls of our own homes. And I have people ask me all the time how to reach those kinds of folks. It’s different in every situation, for sure, and I don’t have all the answers. But there are definitely some things to keep in mind when interacting with someone who may be unsure about — or even against — your 2A beliefs.
 1. Don’t patronize them, belittle them or make them feel uncomfortable.
Most of us have probably heard the old adage: “You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” In other words, we all know that it’s easier to persuade someone with polite requests and a positive attitude than with rude demands and negativity. This is definitely true for the topic of firearms. Others may be more inclined to listen to you and accept — or even adopt — your beliefs if you are considerate and respectful. You can be firm and unwavering, but you don’t have to hammer everyone to get your point across. Be assertive instead of aggressive. And even if the conversation gets you frustrated, take the higher road. Yelling and arguing won’t get you anywhere. And telling a person he or she is stupid, whiny or scared will likely not win anyone over to our side.
 1. Don’t bring up politics.
You’ll never win that battle. Ever. The parts of the brain that actively engage when dealing with the subject of politics are directly linked to the areas of the brain that help define who we are. That’s how serious people are about their political sway. In fact, “Political beliefs are like religious beliefs in the respect that both are part of who you are and important for the social circle to which you belong,” said Jonas Kaplan, assistant research professor of psychology at the Brain and Creativity Institute at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Consequently, with regards to politics, most people are highly unlikely to change their political beliefs, no matter what you do or what you say. And if you challenge them, they are more likely to shut down or become even more convinced that they are right … and you are wrong.
 1. Expose them to positive firearms images, thoughts, articles and posts.
We’re living in a world full of fake news, internet trolls and out-of-control opinions. That, along with simple, fast and immediate access to social media outlets, has created plenty of bad examples of firearms usage. In addition, there are plenty of organizations out there spreading anti-gun propaganda. Keep away from these negative sources. And if you can’t eliminate them, at least try to balance them or challenge them with good sources. Arm yourself with solid information and research so you can have your facts and statistics straight. Share links to articles about those who have saved lives (even their own) because of guns. Post supportive memes showing safe and responsible gun ownership. As well, I’d highly recommend leaving a copy or two of Concealed Carry Magazine around for folks to check out!
 1. Take them to the shooting range.
This has worked on numerous occasions for many people. I’ve heard some amazing and wonderful stories of those who had never picked up a gun try their hand at shooting … and love it! Except for the rogue, emotionally charged reporters looking to give guns a bad name, the majority of non-shooters and non-gun owners I have taken to the range have loved their experiences —yes, even the liberals and the feminists. Just don’t go overboard on the gun or the caliber. You want them to LIKE this, remember? Give them something fun to use and something fun to shoot. Maybe go light with a .22 and let them try a fun game of poker or Battleship. Or try using responsive or reactive targets, from steel plates to colorful balloons. (I’d advise steering away from anything that looks human or animal. Don’t start there. That may negate or destroy your efforts!) And don’t be afraid to extend follow-up invitations and, if they’re receptive, invite them to classes or training groups.
 1. Be a good 2A role model all the time, even when you think no one is watching.
Always follow the safety rules. Practice what you preach. Continue to live the responsibly armed life. Don’t ever become complacent with firearms. And keep planting — and watering — those seeds. You never know if (or when) they might sprout.

Vegas Shot Show ...is All About YOU!

As I get ready to head down to Las Vegas for the 2017 SHOT Show, I’m reminded once again of all it represents:

Hard work. Opportunity. Freedom.

That’s why, in recent years, I’ve come to think of this amazing event as the culmination of the “Responsibly Armed” American Dream.

See, down here, no matter where you turn, you’ll see more than just big-name gun manufacturers. You’ll see plenty of motivated individuals — responsible, law-abiding citizens — who share a passion for firearms and for protecting their loved ones. THIS is why SHOT Show means so much to me. Every year is a new and unique experience, and it always gives me reason to pause in deep appreciation for the USCCA — and, of course, for YOU.

It also gives me reason to reflect on just how far I’ve come — just how far we’ve come.

You’ve heard the story of my first-ever SHOT Show (over a decade ago now) where I was desperately trying to spread the word — to no avail — about Concealed Carry Magazine and responsibly armed Americans.

And you’ve heard how that story finally came full circle when, a few years back, I was able to distribute over 5,000 copies of the magazine and connect with hundreds of people looking to keep their families safe.

And so you see, things have really evolved. We have evolved. I say that because, honestly, what happens here in Vegas is really all about you:

It’s about sharing the USCCA’s mission.

It’s about recognizing and celebrating responsibly armed Americans.

And so I think you deserve to know about a few of the incredible (and exciting) things happening this year.

First and foremost, we’re lauding the launch of Concealed Carry Women’s Magazine and will be handing out free copies at our booth, #L208, located in the Level 2 lobby. (Our ladies’ room sponsorship also celebrates CCMW — we’ve designed special mirror decals that allow women to see themselves on the cover of the new magazine!) In addition, we’ll be giving away complimentary “Responsibly Armed American” t-shirts, designed by Nine Line Apparel. Be sure to stop by our booth to snag both of these freebies.

I’m also excited to announce that we’re the sole sponsor of the New Product Center, one of SHOT’s most visited resources. We’re also once again sponsoring the charging stations you’ll find around the show.

If you’re interested, you can catch me on SHOT Show TV during the event … I’ll be covering some of USCCA’s best products and, of course, our great membership benefits. You’ll also have the chance to see our new commercial on SHOT Show TV; it’ll be airing in hotel rooms and all across the show floor.

It’s sure to be a great week, and I’m both honored and humbled to represent YOU, through the USCCA, at this year’s show. If you’re going to be there — and I hope you are! — please drop by booth #L208 and say “hi.” I’d love to shake your hand and thank you for what you do for this organization, for this industry and for your family.

Take Care and Stay Safe,

Tim Schmidt
Publisher - Concealed Carry Report
USCCA Founder

P.S. - Been thinking about activating your USCCA membership? Now’s your chance, because for a limited time, I’m including a bonus package (worth up to $244.64) when you do! You’ll also receive a complimentary entry to win 1 of 11 Kimber Tactical Ultra 1911s!

Hey,

I want to talk to you about something pretty serious.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...and again...

We're no longer safe in the places we once felt safest.

Assaults in churches, murders in movie theaters, armed robberies in the checkout line at the grocery store...

These headline-making events seem to be plaguing us every single day...

We want to believe the world is a safe place, but even more so, we want to believe our hometowns are immune to this horrifying decline of our society...

But two police reports listed in my local newspaper a while back showed a different and disturbing reality...

You see, more and more people are choosing to carry guns to defend themselves-which I fully support...

I mean, educating and insuring these people is exactly what we do at the USCCA...

It's why I founded this organization in the first place...

But while there are many inspiring stories of self-defense involving concealed weapons, there are some that are less justified...

Take the two contrasting stories near my hometown...

A 30-year old man reported being assaulted in a park while walking with a female friend. He said he was approached by four unknown men, when one of them tried to start a fight by punching him. When the victim advised the assailants he was carrying a concealed weapon, they fled in their vehicle, and were later apprehended by police.

Now, this is what I like to hear...stories of responsibly armed citizens right in my own back yard...

But then, later that same week...

A road rage incident caused one of two involved vehicles to collide into a guardrail. A verbal exchange followed between the drivers. One then drew his concealed gun and pointed it at the other man in an attempt to discourage him from leaving the scene. The permit holder was arrested for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and was transported to jail.

You see, there's two sides to every coin...

There are cases of good concealed carry discipline, which make us want to stand up and cheer for the good guy...

And others that frankly, ruin the image of respectable firearm-owning civilians...

t's up to us to act responsibly when we decide to take matters in our own hands, and to know ahead of time when it's appropriate and legal to draw our guns.

Practice your draw. Train to improve your accuracy. Carry your gun as a means of protection...

But, know the law...

Don't do anything stupid, careless, or reckless.

Your actions-right or wrong-affect millions of other gun owners.

If you've been following the USCCA for a while you know that I like to give cool bonuses to responsible gun owners...

But I hope you know what this is REALLY about...

If not, keep reading...

Do you ever read The BLAZE...? This article caught my eye recently...

"Joe Balistreri didn't think twice about shooting a home intruder–but had he known ahead of time how much it would cost him, he just might have."

According to The BLAZE, Joe woke up at 4 a.m. to someone entering through his parent's garage...

It wasn't long after that he found himself face to face with the 6-foot 4" tall intruder.

Joe feared for his life and fired 3 shots.

But now, months after the incident Joe's discovered that the intruder filed a civil lawsuit against him for "negligent use of a handgun."

Thankfully, the judge sided with Joe and his family, but The BLAZE put it perfectly...

"The legal fees proved to be a lasting blow."

Joe simply defended his family, but now the crippling financial burden has fallen squarely on HIS shoulders.

I don't know about you, but that makes my blood boil...

But here's the ugly truth–our legal system gives criminals the right to sue...and they take advantage of it every day.

That's why you NEED self-defense insurance.

It's simply part of being a responsibly armed American.

I don't want you to end up in Joe's position, forced to start a "GoFundMe" page, asking others to help pay for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that can come after defending your family.

That's why the USCCA offers up to $1,125,000 in Self-Defense SHIELD protection...

So we can find you the best pro-2nd Amendment attorney and get your legal fees paid so you don't end up with a mountain of debt–or a lifetime behind bars–simply for defending the ones [$245 Value]...

PLUS, you'll get your 11 chances to win your share of the grand prize at the end of the month–$1,317 to buy your own Kimber Tactical Ultra 1911...

Well, today's the day that many responsibly armed Americans have been looking forward to for some time:

January 20th, 2017.

Inauguration Day.

The day we close the chapter on the last four years and look to the future — to the hope and promise of what's ahead.

The day we celebrate and uphold the peaceful transition of power — a cornerstone of our country's democracy.

On this particular day, in this particular year, it's also the day President-Elect Donald Trump officially becomes President Donald Trump.

Now, regardless of what you think of President Trump — or any others who have come before him, for that matter — you can't really argue the fact that Inauguration Day serves as a crucial turning point — for better or for worse — for our nation.

It also serves to showcase the promise our new leader makes to us, the American people:

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

On so, on this Inauguration Day, just as the 44 others who preceded him have done, Donald Trump accepted the oath of office.

He also vowed:

"I will fight for you with every breath in my body, and I will never, ever, let you down … Your voice, your hopes and your dreams will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way."

I'm choosing to take these words to heart. I'm choosing to stand strong and proud as a responsible American gun owner. I'm choosing to believe in the greatness of our country, our people and our freedoms.

God bless America!

Take Care and Stay Safe,

Criminals aren't getting smarter-but their lawyers ARE.

You know, when I was growing up, we never locked our front door, and my dad always left his keys dangling in the ignition of his work truck.

Times sure have changed...

Sure, there were "bad guys" back then too...but crooked defense attorneys come a dime a dozen these days.

It's easier now than ever for the good guys like you and me to end up in the hot seat, or worse, behind bars simply for protecting the oneswe love...

I'll never forget this headline I saw in the news recently...

It read, "Homeowner Struggles With Legal Bills After Being Sued By Home Intruder He Shot"

Yes, a man was sued by the intruder who broke into HIS house in the middle of the night...

The burglar's family tried to take anything and everything he had to his name!

Believe me, the criminals aren't getting smarter–but their lawyers ARE.

That's why over 172,000 responsibly armed Americans have already activated their USCCA membership...

To get the peace of mind, and deep pockets, they need to truly be the protectors their families are counting on.

Activate your USCCA Membership today for $1,125,000 in Self-Defense SHIELD protection...

...and the peace of mind you need to rest easier tonight.

Because in today's world...your family's safety and financial future aren't worth the risk of going another day without protection.

And that's why I want to make this decision as easy as possible for you...

So, when you harness the full power of a USCCA Membership right now I'll send you a New Member Bonus Package [$245 Value] full of concealed carry training and gear, absolutely free...

P. S. - Please remember, even if you only keep your gun under lock and key in your home, you still need this legal & financial back-up plan.

And if, God forbid, your spouse or children ever have to shoot someone in your home with your legally owned firearm, of course, they're protected too.
